• Assess situation

• Contact medical provider for direction

• Aid ill passenger, as advised

• Use medical kits and/or defibrillator

• Coordinate any diversion arrangements

• Follow best practices for food handling

• Wash hands to avoid sharing germs

Fever ≥ 100°F of any duration AND one or more of the following:

– Persistent cough

– Persistent vomiting

– Difficulty breathing

– Headache with stiff neck

– Decreased consciousness

– Unexplained bleeding

The U.S. Code of Federal Regulations requires reporting to CDC:

1) death, 2) suspected communicable disease or 3) serious illness

before arrival of all passengers/crew on international flights into the United States.

• Know how to get medical assistance 24/7

• Assume personal medical safety – wear seat

belt – caution experimenting with food

• Prevent mosquito bites - reduce risk

• Use an effective insect repellent (i.e. DEET)

• Establish Guarantee of Payment for treatment

• Request prescription replacement coordination

• Accept referral for medical appointment
