Dear Guardians of our VIII Class students, We are sure that you will have the best of your vacations with our children. As vacations are drawing to conclusion, serious studies must replace in entertainment and idling holiday mood. So this holiday H.W. is an attempt to create a meaningful and joyful holidays for our children. Some how, as a Principal and Father of my students, I have always been in touch with the child in me – The child who still yearns for a natural world of bees, butterflies, flowers, lots of fun with Grand Parents, always demanding for the parents and many more planning with friends. The best learning occurs when the activity has a purpose and is relevant. For this reason suggestions listed here, which relate closely to the holiday experience, will be far more meaningful to our little ones than trying to complete school – related activities provided by the teachers. We remind parents never to underestimate the value of travel as an educational experience in itself. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: Take the time to pray with our little ones and discuss our values and rituals. They have many opportunities to hear other people‟s attitudes and values through the media. Sometimes, as Grand Parents, we forget to tell them our beliefs! ENGLISH: Talking and listening is a very important part of the English syllabus. There are lots of fun ways to pass the time and improve communication skills when travelling. Tell our little ones to read the different boards and flex as fast as they can during road journey. Children are always best motivated to read and write when an activity is related to what they are doing - . Keep a daily diary during the holiday. If children need guidance with this, they can write under simple headings like “What I did” and “How I felt”. Depending on the child‟s age, drawing and labelling diagrams may be appropriate. . Use every opportunity along the way to read holiday related literature, road signs. maps and travel brochures.

Dear Guardians of our VIII Class students,

We are sure that you will have the best of your vacations with our children. As vacations are drawing to conclusion, serious studies must replace in entertainment and idling holiday mood. In the Car :

. Make tallies of interesting things you see while travelling (How much red cars / petrol stations etc.) . Read the number plates of other cars. . Estimate how long it will take to travel one kilometer.

Human Society and It‟s Environment :

. Learning about new places and reading information about the history / culture etc. of the holiday destination. . Children can make a holiday brochure to tell others about the area visited. (How much have they remembered) . Many places have historical sites / houses / museums worth visiting. After the visit have the children draw or writ e all the things they have seen / learnt.

Science and Technology :

. Learning how to use a camera

. Opportunities to cook with discussion about temperature etc.

. Visiting animal zoos and hearing more about various animals.

. Write an information report about your favourite animal

. Talking about weather of different places

Creative and Practical Arts :

. Sing – in the car or during journey

. Visit art galleries and learn about different art forms and artists

. Use paints / crayons etc. to record holiday experiences

Physical Education :

Holidays are an ideal time to play new games and improve hand / eye coordination and fitness through: . Ball games (Catching / Soccer etc.) . Batting (cricket / softball etc.) . Swimming . Developing flexibility on climbing gyms, etc.

Be Ready To Debate –

Presentation and Debate increases self confidence. To enhance their knowledge and speaking skills help your child to Debate on „ Importance Of Computer In Our Life‟. Debate competition will be held on Saturday, 14/7/18 during school hours. To make the presentation more interesting you can make your own projects to explain your views. Best performer will be awarded.
