The big news is that the Nagajuna school has moved to a new location in Pokhara! Sadly this is not into our own building (yet) but it is into a bigger building. The kids have more space, the classrooms are not as cramped and there is even somewhere for the kids to wash. Your donations have allowed us to buy new bedding and some schooling equipment. Also a donation from the Netherlands has been used to build a covered eating area and furnish a kitchen, complete with gas powered fridge. Unfortunately, we are still at the mercy of a landlord and price rises so we are continuing to fund raise to build on the land that we purchased last year. Later in the Summer, Dennis and I plus two crazy people called Sam, will Take on The Thames by canoeing the length of the non tidal Thames to raise money to build the new school. It’s 127 miles and 41 locks on one of the most famous rivers in the world. It will probably take about 4 days in addition to a lot of blisters! If you would like to help make our pain worthwhile please sponsor us at http://www.justgiving.com/takeonthethames Alternatively, send me an email if you would like to donate via a bank transfer or cash or even cheque. So finally, thanks again for your continuing support. If over the coming weeks you are having an Easter party or perhaps a Royal Wedding Garden party, perhaps you can ask your friends to share a bit of Spring happiness with our kids. Stay safe and happy, Rebecca Seddon Chairperson of Nagajuna Trust

Importance of newspapers by Zompa Lama, Class IV

The world that we live in is a fast changing one. There are various events taking place all over newspapers. Newspapers are our greatest friends as they bring news and information from each and every corner of the world. There are sections in the paper for international news, national news sports and climate too. Depending on ones interest one can read any section of the newspapers politics, society, new friends in the business and fashion world, cartoons, what’s on, opinion etc. All these are published every day in the newspaper.

People who seek employment can see the newspaper for information about vacancies in various institutions all over the country. Those who are looking for a house to live in on rental basis can find that advertised in the paper.

Reading the newspaper preposes us better to face the days as we know exactly what is going on in the world today.

Taj Mahal by Tapin Lama, Class V

The Taj Mahal was built by a Mughal emperor called Shah Jhan in 12th century for the remembrance of his beloved wife, Mum Taj. It is Agra in India. This monument was built by using white marbles as a symbol of love. Mum Taj died when she was very young. At that time king Shah Jhan’s heart was broken and to remember his beloved wife forever by this monument he built this Taj Mahal. It is also known as the seventh wonder of the world. During the full moon night, the beautiful building of Taj Mahal shines brightly likes a diamond. Taj Mahal was engraved with many important verses from the Koran, the holy book of Muslims.
