CONGRATULATIONS!Your family has just won a family vacation of a

lifetime!

Your family vacation includes: Destinations anywhere in the world! No time, length, or distance restrictions. As many destinations as the family needs for each member of

your familyto participate in the planning.

BUT… Every member of the family must choose at least one destination

he or she would like to visit as part of the vacation of a lifetime.

Create an itinerary once the destinations have been selected. Include in the itinerary for every destination the “CHURCH ABCS.”

Research the catholic churches; Abbeys, Basilica and Cathedrals in the towns and cities you are visiting. We would like to virtually visit them. Fill pages of the family Destined journal with memories of your visit. Just as you would on a family vacation, include “memorable” details. Give examples of parts of the church that caught your attention and why. If it is an Abbey, Basilica, or Cathedral can you find the “special items” that mark it so?

Around the world, we know we are all a part of a much larger catholic family. We are able to find “family members and the family home in every part of the world. When we enter a catholic church, no matter where in the world it is, it is our home too! Yes, it might look very different from St. Mary Magdalen. Their words may sound strange and totally unfamiliar, just as it might feel if you were visiting a distant relative for the first time. But then

you look around you see things you recognize. You watch them do the same things you do. They stand up, sit down, read, sing and share a meal at the same times you do. It is home. It is the same united family of God all over the world.
