Day & Night In Science Term 1, 2/3SA learnt about earth’s rotation and why we have day and night. We made Sundials, which are instruments that show the time by a shadow that is cast by the sun. We did frequent outdoor observations of the sky, noticing the clouds and where the sun was situated in the sky. We also made posters to display our new knowledge of day and night. ‘The Sun is the biggest star, it is also known as a giant burning gas ball. The Sun is NOT a planet. Earth is the only planet with known life at the moment, it rotates 24 hours and determines day and night.’ Zach

and night. We made Sundials, which are instruments that show the time by a
