Day 2: Layering Stencils
Mixed-Media Layering Technique
Steps:1. Place stencil on tag, and apply Distress Paint
using an Ink Blending Tool.
2. Dry paint using a Heat Tool.
3. Ink tag with Distress Ink or Stain, mist with water, and let dry.
4. Place stencil on tag, and apply Distress Ink using an Ink Blending Tool.
5. Place stencil on tag, and mist with Reinker Mist.
6. Dry finished tag using a Heat Tool.

Embossing with Stencils Technique
Steps:Sandwich for Sizzix Machines/Accessories Only
1. Create sandwich as follows:
◆ Layer #1: Sizzix Platform
◆ Layer #2: Clear Cutting Pad
◆ Layer #3: Sizzix Silicone Pad
◆ Layer #4: Tag or Cardstock
◆ Layer #5: Layering Stencil
◆ Layer #6: Sizzix Impressions Pad
2. Run sandwich through Vagabond or Big Shot Machine to emboss.

Embossing through Stencils
Steps:1. Place stencil on tag, and apply a color of
Distress Ink using an Ink Blending Tool.
2. Remove stencil, and cover tag with clear embossing powder.
3. Remove excess powder by flicking the tag.
4. Heat emboss using a Heat Tool until powder melts.
5. Replace stencil over embossed design, and ink with brown Distress Ink using an Ink Blending Tool.
*Alternative: You can just emboss through a stencil using Embossing Ink and various embossing powders.

Stencil Stamping Technique
Steps:1. Create background on tag.
2. Place stencil on tag, and apply Distress Ink or Paint using an Ink Blending Tool.
3. With stencil still in place, stamp a small patterned design through stencil using Archival Ink.
4. Remove stencil to reveal stamped layered effect.

Stencil Sketching Technique
Steps:1. Create background on tag.
2. Place stencil on tag, and sketch through stencil using Distress Marker.
For small areas, use Fine Tip of Marker.For large areas, use Brush Tip of Marker
