COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Selected Team Member/Volunteer- Samoan Victim Support Group- Apia, SamoaSelected to join a small group to go to Samoa and run program, build relationship and mentor children who were victims of horrific sexual and physical abuse. We found ourselves using counseling and encouraging while being empathetic and enthusiastic at the same time to encourage the children that their future’s were positive despite their negative experiences.

OTHER EXPERIENCES

Interpersonal skills and verbal communication were often used to deal with a range of customers. Dealing with distressed customers and trying to calm or talk them into a place of comfort, customer inquiries/problem solving and foreign customers who needed to be slowly helped through things because of language barriers.
