Dear Birthmother,

We would like to thank you for reviewing our proile and considering us in this process. We want you to know the respect

and regard we have for you as you make these decisions

throughout your adoption plan. We are David and Holly, both 34

years old. We have been married for ten years and have two

sons.

We are not able to have any more biological children and believe

God has led us to adoption to expand our family. After much

prayer, we began the process to adopt. We have irm beliefs that God orders our steps and that He has brought us to this place in

our lives. We attend church every Sunday, serve in many aspects

of our church body, and incorporate our faith into all aspects of

our lives.

We are committed to each other and to providing our children with a safe, secure, loving, and faith-

illed home. Both of our families are very supportive and super excited that we are adopting. They can’t wait to welcome a new member into our large extended fun-loving family. We spend time

together at sporting events, enjoying outdoor activities, family picnics, and holiday gatherings. We

also love the small town we live in. David grew up here and Holly has loved becoming a part of the

community. We are also committed to raising our children to be aware of and part of their culture

and heritage. We want them to know who God made them to be and their uniqueness in this world.

Again, thank you for getting to know us a little better. We hope in the next few pages you are able

to see that it is our commitment to our faith, our love for each other, and the support from our family,

friends and community that have prepared us for this next step in our family’s journey.

We are believers that God has a plan for each and every one of us. We believe it was His plan and timing that brought us together. We met about sixteen years ago at church, while still in high school. Our fondness and appreciation for each other grew as we attended the same state university and continued to serve together in ministry. We began to date shortly before graduating college and were married a year later. David began a career in education, teaching elementary school, and Holly became a registered nurse and found part-time employment at a local community hospital.

We are committed to each other and to God. We do most everything together: worship, watch movies, play tennis, go on hikes and walks, attend professional baseball games, play board games, undertake projects to update our home, swim at the park pool, and vacation to the beach. We do not shop together very often though. David likes to bargain shop and Holly is only a practical shopper. Further, in her spare time, Holly likes to relax with family and read. David likes to play volleyball and coach youth sports. We are very active in our church: we serve in church leadership, in the nursery, and in the youth group; we’ve sung in services; taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday school classes; and coached and played church softball and volleyball.

We are committed to growing together as a couple and expect that the best is yet to come in our relationship as we continue to experience life together. God brought us this far and will continue to be the light to which we look for our life decisions. Our aspirations for the future include: expanding our family, traveling, and serving God in whatever way He calls us

and having fun while doing it all.

About Us...

All about Holly by David

Holly is a gentle, beautiful, and caring woman. She lives to care for others, snuggling and hugging our boys, cooking a new or extravagant family meal, watching sports, and spending time in the outdoors where she feels closest to God. She loves the calming feelings that comes with the ocean waves, a backyard bonire, a horseback trail ride, and walks with her family.

She also cares deeply for family. She regularly sets aside time to talk with her sisters, parents, cousins and extended family. As a nurse, she utilizes her training to tend to the needs of others. She kisses the boo-boos of our kids and is there when an emergency arises. When our pastor’s wife fell unconscious in church, Holly and a friend gave life-sav-ing CPR until paramedics arrived. Holly is also conscious of her own health. She watches cooking television, reads the internet to ind healthier dinners for her family, and enjoys running and biking.

She isn’t perfect, but she’s a perfect mother. She’s here for her kids to: listen, read, and tell stories; pray for them; play toys, puzzles, and ball; and prepare them for whatev-

er future they desire.

All about David by Holly

David is an amazing man of God that I knew would make an amazing husband and father when I irst met him. He had a quirky sense of humor, made me laugh, and made me want to be a better person. David is a server at heart, whether working, improving our house, helping friends, or heading up ministries at church; he’s always going.

He loves sports and he’ll try any new activity at least once. We’ve been zip-lining on St. Maarten and when white water rafting; we got stuck on a rock in the rushing waters for over a half hour. It’s this adventurous side of David I love. He gets me to try new things and I love him for it.

You’ll never ind a more devoted father. He loves our boys unconditionally and is an amazing man of God for them to look up to. He may be stubborn at times and so far I haven’t been able to convince him to quit biting his ingernails, but I’d take that any day if it means a lifetime with him. David is a balance of sensibility and fun. He works hard, as evidenced by completing his Master’s Degree and obtaining a license to be an elementary principal, but spends time worshiping our loving God and enjoying our family each and every day.

Our Family...

(We won.)

Our immediate family consists of us, and our two sons. They are nine and four and full of energy. They make each day exciting. They couldn’t be more different in personality, yet they love each other wildly and enjoy life together. When told they were

going to have another sibling, they were both extremely excited

and can’t wait for their sibling to arrive.

We have two wonderful, close knit extended families. David

is one of six boys and Holly is one of three girls. Our parents live

within twenty miles and play vital roles in our lives. We can call

on them for everything from babysitting to supporting school

events, to wisdom and knowledge about life. Holly’s sisters also

live close by and have children of their own. We have one niece on David’s side that lives in California and we

enjoy when she comes to visit or Skype to stay in touch. Our nieces and nephews range from age six to sixteen.

We have traditions from both families which continue in our family. For example, growing up, Holly’s family was

very involved in 4-H and raising animals to show at the county fair. Though we don’t currently show animals, we do make it a priority to attend the county fair every year, which also serves as a family reunion because

the entire family shows up. Holidays are a busy time of year, but busy in a good way. Easter, Independence

Day, Christmas and Thanksgiving include time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins as we have family dinners each year with both sides of our family. We will really use any excuse to get together with family.

We’ve vacationed together to Myrtle Beach, have spent days at amusement parks together, and have just

simply spent time hanging out, enjoying each other’s company.

Our families are one of God’s greatest gifts, and we are thankful for each member of ours. As we told each

of our parents and siblings about the adoption, the response was overwhelming. They were all excited, supportive, and encouraging in the best way possible as we have journeyed throughout this process. They can’t wait to meet the newest member of the family and will no doubt welcome them with the same love and

acceptance they have shown to each other member of the family.

We own and live in a split level home, with four

bedrooms and three full baths. There are three bedrooms on the second loor and one on the irst loor. The kitchen, living room, and family room are also on the irst loor. The basement is partially inished with a recreation room equipped for playing ping pong or watching TV. The home was David’s childhood home and we purchased it as our own a year ago. The back of the house has a large deck, where we barbecue

often. It leads down to a large back yard, where

the kids can play away from any busy streets or

trafic. Our home is adjacent to a large park with baseball ields, a ishing pond, tennis courts, a public pool, a playground, walking trails, and a

hill that we use for sled-riding in the winter.

The community is equipped with all the small town charm you would expect of a town its size.

There is a summer street fair each year with a parade to mark its commencement, of which

we have attended and been a part of with our

children. It is a close knit community where we

feel very much at home; it is a safe town where

people are daily seen going for an evening

walk or bike ride. Our neighbors are wonderful

people whom we enjoy and watch out for our

children as well.
