Water Fountains on the ovals funded by the P&C
The P&C have recently finalised the installation of two new drinking water stations on the top and bottom ovals. This will enables students who play on the ovals during recess and lunch to remain hydrated and fill up water bottles. Thank you P&C.

Churchlands celebrated an open day last Friday afternoon to showcase events that happen at the school. Parents were able to visit the Technologies and Arts Exhibition, sing Christmas carols and enjoy a concert. Visit the STEM exhibition, Alumni and Aboriginal Cultural displays, watch exhibition sports matches, have a free haircut as part of the Fathering Project and enjoy faculty displays, tours and interactive sessions. Students Return to school in 2022
The first day back to school for students in 2022 is Monday 31 January. Churchlands looks forward to welcoming new Year 7 students and families to the community as well as new students going into Years 8-12. The Administration office will be closed between 23 December 2021 and Monday 10 January 2022.

Sonshine Radio 98.5Churchlands SHS had a last minute opportunity to take part in 98.5's Sonshine FM's free coffee day at the Ingredient Tree in Herdsman on Friday 03 December.
Year 10 student Shreeya Naroth answered questions on air about her student life at Churchlands. Other student services staff attended.

Dear parents/carers,
Re: Vaccination requirements for 2022
As you may be aware, all school staff are required to be double dose vaccinated before Term 1, 2022 starts.
The State Government has issued Education Worker (Restrictions on Access) Directions (No. 3), which are published on wa.gov.au. These Directions include vaccination requirements for visitors entering school sites.
Students are not required to be vaccinated. However, if your child is on a work placement, they will need to comply with the industry/business requirements at that workplace. Parents/carers are not required to be vaccinated when:• dropping off or picking up their child from school;• volunteering at school on an ad hoc basis;• attending an event such as an assembly or parent teacher interview; or• entering the school after hours.‘Ad hoc basis’ means attendance at no more than one education facility no more than once per week. Parents/carers are required to provide vaccination evidence (single dose vaccinated from 1 January 2022 and double dose vaccinated from 31 January 2022) or exemption when:
• volunteering at the school more than once a week (this includes volunteering at the school canteen, uniform store or an in-class literacy or numeracy program);• working in an unpaid capacity at the school more than once a week; or• participating in an endorsed program at the school where parent attendance is required.
The following are acceptable forms of evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption:• written confirmation of the COVID-19 vaccination issued by the Department of Health;• the COVID-19 digital certificate, which shows only your COVID-19 vaccinations. Services Australia has information on how to get your COVID-19 digital certificate;• your immunisation history statement, which shows all vaccinations you’ve had. Services Australia has information on how to get your immunisation history statement;• an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate issued by the Commonwealth Government. This shows the COVID-19 vaccination recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register;• medical exemption issued by the Australian Immunisation Register; or• temporary exemption granted by the WA Chief Health Officer.

School Service Changes Term 1, 2022
ATTENTION ALL BUS USERS
Across the Transperth network school special and regular route services are reviewed on a frequent basis to ensure that we provide the best possible service with the resources available.
Transperth have a number of changes planned to services across the network in December and January, which may have an impact to your students’ journey upon school resumption.
Please find the attached bulletin, which pro-vides general information for students plan-ning their journey to and from school using Transperth services.
Information regarding these changes will be available on the Transperth website in January. Students can plan their journey from two weeks prior to the changes taking effect.

After such a great response to our webinar series this year, eSafety is pleased to announce a new and expanded program in 2022.
Our free webinars are designed to give parents and carers the knowledge, skills and tools to support their children to have a safe and positive experience online.
eSafety’s live webinars for parents and carers attracted record attendance numbers in 2021. To meet this growing demand, eSafety’s education and training team has broadened the program to include more dates and topics to support school communities.

• Cyberbullying and online drama.
Each of these webinars will be offered three times during the term.
We hope you can join us for this new program designed to keep young people safe online. Safer Internet Day on the 8 February 2022 will be a great chance to encourage your community to come together and deepen your understanding of online safety. We suggest you start by putting this date in the diary!
