Human Resources Manager, Leuchars - 2013 – 2015

Unit specialist of Service Law responsible for the management of a small diligent team, providing accurate and timely Human Resources administration procedures and policy guidance.

Managed a department of 4 personnel, providing current policy advice and guidance to senior management using both written and verbal communication for maximum impact to the Service case.

Negotiated and liaised with and delegated to the Policy department in Air Command and the Legal Team regarding Case updates and proposed courses of action.

Directed the timely and robust submission of candidates for the Queens Honours Lists biannually, including the appropriate sifting and vigorous editing of State Awards.

Administered the process for dishonourable discharges, including investigating the impact on finances and future employment prospects. 

Accounts Manager, Lossiemouth - 2011 - 2013

Responsible for the managing a small team that was responsible for the administration, control and governance of the Public and Non-Public funds on the Station.

The role was responsible for ensuring that MOD policies for the management of tax payers money were correctly adhered to.

Ensured all transactions were carried out in accordance with current regulations and funds were safeguarded against fraud, theft or other misuse, including regular checks on all funds

Provided advice to the Station Commander to ensure that all Service Funds operated in accordance with the Charities Act 2006 and SORP 2005, including providing financial advice to a charity with a turnover of over £300,000.

Infrastructure Manager, Lossiemouth - 2011 – 2011 (Maternity Cover)

Staff officer responsible for the development of strategic planning and policy for the military infrastructure (living accommodation, Airfield and all training areas) for the Station.

Events Co-Ordination Officer, Newquay - 2009 – 2011

Staff Officer role in charge of the general administrative support to the Station Commander which included liaison with other management executives for the co-ordination and production of draft correspondence, briefings, presentations and reports. Organised all major parades for the Station and chaired all planning meetings associated with ceremonial events and VIP visits.

Royal Yachting Association Dinghy Instructor/Team Leader, Caribbean – 2006-2008

A sailing instructor working for a charity in the British Virgin Islands working with disabled and disadvantage children, changing their lives through water sports.. Every day was different. Sailing a range of dinghies and powerboats, teaching adults and young people from every background and with enormous range of abilities.
