It was resolved in the conven-tion that every effort will be madeto counter the communal forces inthe interest of the Country.
Cautioning people of thoseforces like Modi who are dreamingof abrogation of Article 370, heasserted that Congress will neverallow it to happen and will resistevery move at every level to safe-guard Article 370.
On Hurriyat’s election boycott,he said there is no logic in propa-gating election boycott in Kashmir,which only contributes in strength-ening and encouraging the corruptpeople.
Advising Hurriyat to revisittheir decision, Vakil said everyissue of whatever nature can beresolved through dialogue as worldhistory is witness to the fact thatviolence has been replaced by apeaceful dialogue.

He said it was most unfortu-nate that some political partieslike PDP in the State haveindulged in a secret alliancewith the communal forceswhose Prime-ministerial candi-date Narendra Modi wasresponsible for the worst evercommunal riots and blood shedin Gujarat adding that this willremain the darkest chapter inthe history of India.

JAMMU, Apr 6: Minister forPlanning and Development,Ajay Kumar Sadhotra todayappealed the people of the Stateto beat the self interested politi-cal groups, whose aim is to grabpower by sacrificing the com-munal harmony and peace in theState, and vote for coalition can-didates.
While addressing electionrally at Flyan-Mandal, heretoday, Sadhotra appealed thepeople to make their choice for2014 Lok Sabha elections as perthe performance of CoalitionGovernment and the role playedby the opposition parties in thedevelopment of the State.

It was because of visionarypolicies of Congress-NationalConference (NC) coalition inJammu and Kashmir that amplejob opportunities were created.Massive industrialisation cou-pled with self help schemes andinitiation of new mega projectsall clubbed together generatedample job opportunities for theeducated unemployed youth, hesaid.
Bhalla added that people aregoing to reject divisive forces inensuing Parliamentary electionsand that would unveil theirnefarious designs. He said thatthe country needs a stableGovernment which onlyCongress can give.
He was addressing series ofpublic meetings at Janipur,Gandhi Nagar, Chatta Pind,Symbal Camp, near General BusStand, various sectors of NanakNagar, Trikuta Nagar andKunjwani where he sought votesfor Congress. He said that liber-al funding by CentralGovernment also helped state

He urged people to vote forparty candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary con-stituency Madan Lal Sharmaand send a credible representa-tive into the highest decisionmaking institution of the coun-try.
He said certain communalforces were hell bent upon todestabilize country whichCongress will never allow tohappen. These forces which areinimical to peace and prosperityhad always been talking ofdividing the nation on regionaland religious basis. In manyareas peace was vitiated by nar-row mindedness and divisivepolicies of BJP, due to whichpeople stand divided butCongress is committed to unitepeople and not divide them.
Husband, wife arrested forygrabbing Auqaf land

SAMBA, Apr 6: RamgarhPolice today arrested husbandwife duo for grabbing of sixmarlas of Auqaf land atRamgarh market today who
were going to construct a com-pound wall round it.
According to police soonafter coming to know about theland grabbing by a mafia groupin the area, a team fromRamgarh Police Station underthe supervision of DySP SSSamyal and SHO Ramgarhreached the area and stopped theconstruction work and seizedthe entire material dumped bythe encroachers. They were alsoaccompanied by TehsildarRamgarh.
The husband- wife duo hasbeen identified as Gurcharan,son of Lekh Raj and SudeshaDevi. The Police has registereda case under Section 447 A, 323,147 and 149 against them on the
basis of a complaint filed by oneHarbans Lal.
Earlier the shopkeepers ofthe area also held a protestdemonstration in the area andobserved a bandh for two hoursagainst the grabbing of Auqafland by the mafia.
Police said that it will acttough against the land grabbersin the area and mafia will not beallowed to grab even an inch ofState land or land belonging toany other institution.
The police will also invokeSection 145 if need be.

According to the policereports, the Scorpio bearingregistration number JK14B-8154 collided with Maruti carJK01H-5939 near Dogra Morhresulting into injuries toMukhtyar Ahmed (50) son ofAbdul Rahman, Ravina (33)wife of Reaz Ahmad, Farida(55) wife of Mohmed Yusafand Marfeeta (28) daughter ofSheikh Mohmed Yusaf, all
residents of Pulwama inKashmir.

Absconderarrested

Udhampur Police today arrestedan absconder who was evadinghis arrest for the last about sixyears.
Identified as Sanju Kumaralias Bittu of Chenani, presentlyputting up at Samba, he waswanted in case FIR number014/2008 U/S 457/380/RPC atPolice Station Chenani.
Acting on an input regard-ing his presence in Samba aPolice party, led by SHOChenani Inspector Ajit Singh,raided the said area and arrestedthe absconder.

Contractual Lecturers to voteagainst NC-Cong candidates

JAMMU, Apr 6: All J&KContractual Lecturers (Plus 2)Association has announced tovote against the NC-CongressCoalition Government candi-dates in Jammu and Kashmir forspoiling career by not regulariz-ing their services.
A unanimous decision in thisregard was taken during a meet-ing of the Association, held heretoday, under the chairmanship ofArun Bakshi.
The meet lamented that theState Government passed CivilServices Special Provisions Act2010 for the regularization of all
the adhoc and contractualemployees after seven years ofservice but only ContractualLecturers were debarred fromthe benefit of regularization.Neither these Lecturers are reg-ularized nor their salariesenhanced while most of themhave crossed upper age limit andleft with no other option, theAssociation observed.
The meeting was attended byall the district president, Statevice president Asif Bhat, organ-izing president Anil Shastri,Kirpal Singh, Surinder, VikasGupta, Pawan, Pankaj, PawanGupta, Darshan and others.
