• The events calendar is the most popular page on our website. Events are very enticing to visitors.

• We needed a better calendar containing more comprehensive information. The new calendar was launched on September 19th, two weeks ahead of schedule.

• Features: list view, calendar view, full details with map.

ANNOUNCING: Frog Play!

• Frog Play is a locals discount program available to CVB members to help drive more business to their location(s) especially during the slower seasons. Membership in the program and the discounts it provides are only available to locals from Amador, Calaveras or Tuolumne County.

• Participation is easy:• Make an offer of a discount or special

deal, including any restrictions that work for your business (like seasonal availability) on the paper or online form.

• We enter your incentive on the Frog Play page of the CVB website.

• Pick up a supply of Frog Play cards.• Pick up a Frog Play Sign-up Sheet for

members to fill out.• Issue one Frog Play card to each eligible

member (check their ID to make sure they’re local) and be sure to collect an email address on the Sign-up Sheet.

• Fax or email each completed Frog Play Sign-up Sheet to the CVB.

• Download replacement forms from the CVB website.

Frog Play Marketing

• Participating businesses keep the emails they collect as part of the Frog Play program, and share them with ONLY the CVB.

• Members sign up at the first participating business they visit, after which they need only present their card at other participating businesses to receive their discounts.

• We use collected Frog Play emails to market the program with periodic email campaigns highlighting participating businesses and promoting special limited time offers.

• Frog Play offer details are only available online to streamline the process and make it simple to administer. Members can check online to see the latest details. The URL for the Frog Play page is on their member card.

• In 2014 we plan to roll out a Frog Play treasure map with incentives to visit each participating business, periodically published winners on social media and other fun and engaging components.

The nominees in the ATTRACTION category are:

• Calaveras Big Trees State Park for their interpretive programs, warming hut and new visitor center

• Angels Camp Museum for their new live exhibits featuring demonstrations by docents and volunteers

• Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Association for obtaining the National Scenic Byway designation for Ebbetts Pass, creating events and a guide

• Power Up! Fitness Studio

The nominees in the EVENT category are:

• Twisted Oak Winery for their summer concert series, bringing a new style and venue to evening entertainment in Calaveras

• Murphys Business Association for creating Murphys Day of the Dead, a new interesting event to attract visitors

• Calaveras Arts Council for their Ovations Art Series expanding the arts culture in Calaveras for visitors and residents

• Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee for a high quality family fun event attracting people from around the world

• The Greater Arnold Business Association for their free concert series at Cedar Center

• Ironstone Vineyards for their Summer Concert Series

• Copper Town Square for their large variety of fun events throughout the year

• The Angels Camp Commemorative Committee for developing Gold Rush Day

• The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance for the always entertaining, Calaveras Grape Stomp

• Hotel Leger for starring in Hotel Impossible and for their Spaghetti Western Wednesdays

• Arnold Black Bear Inn for their development as a wedding destination and for their new Top Chef Challenge

• Greenhorn Creek Resort for turning office space into The Caddy Shack – a popular lodging destination for groups

• The Murphys Historic Hotel for starring in Hotel Hell, and working with Gordon Ramsay for the benefit of the community, and for numerous special events throughout the year

The nominees in the RECREATION category are:

• Cave & Mine Adventures for developing the zip lines at Moaning Cavern Adventure Park and for operating and funding the Murphys Information Center

• Arnold Rim Trail Association for the planning, hard work and dedication in developing the Arnold Rim Trail and map

• Greenhorn Creek Resort for their high tech golf cart development and for organizing media events for local business

• Lake Camanche for bringing paddleboard rentals to the lake

• SNAC for providing high quality sporting goods to locals and visitors and for their rental programs encouraging more recreation
