Synthesis of the professional profile

MD specialized in Immunology, Dr De Berardinis has committed his scientific career to studying the molecular and cellular mechanisms of the immune response. In the recent years, he focused his interest in the attempt to translate the results of his researches into immunotherapeutic strategies and products. This was finalised in four patent applications on immunologic arguments. Of rilevance is the patent entitled “T cell receptors” concerning a technology aimed to be used in cancer adoptive T cell therapy, a topic which is collecting renewed interest by the pharmaceutical companies. Notwithstanding its initial state of development the patent was acquired by a private company which also invested in its development . Most recently, Dr De Berardinis filed a CNR patent entitled: ”Phages conjugates and their use “, which proposes the use of bacteriophages fd as a nanocarrier able to deliver antigenic determinants to human dendritic cells and induce sustained and protective immune responses. During his career Dr De Berardinis was entitled as PI of several national and international reserach grants. He has performed teaching activity and is in the faculty of the Ph.D. course “Biomolecular Sciences” of the second University of Naples. Dr De Berardinis is author of 59 publications on peer reviewed international journals and has an active impact factor (firts/last, corresponding author) of 215.77 (source Isi Wos). Dr De Berardinis is associate editor of two internationals journals (SJR quartile Q1 and Q2).
