Support and Encourage the participation in a CTSO related to a CTE pathway a student has scheduled.
Communicate with your Principals, Teachers, Parents, and Students on importance of co-curricular organizations to promote career and college readiness.
What Can You Do?
Every high school should have one of the state-approved CTSOs.
◦ DECA◦ FBLA◦ FFA◦ SkillsUSA
Let’s take a look at what Maryland has…
What Do Your High Schools Have?
1. THINK: Look at the booklet you have been given and respond to the below questions. Record your answers independently.
a) Are any high schools from your LSS missing?b) Look at the poster and decide which CTE programs are
in your schools and which CTSO should exist.
2. PAIR: Get into groups by LSS.a) Think about the people in the district – who would be a
great champion to start a new chapter?b) How can MSDE help?
3. SHARE: Report out your discovery and next steps.
