Article on Roles in Outcome Based Education:

This article explores about the roles and responsibilities in OBE. To implement and exe-

cute the outcome based education process, different roles were considered. Figure 1 represents the

roles in OBE. Head of the Department is the chairman and key role player in order to execute all

the activities of OBE. Program Coordinator will monitor and review the activities of the program

for all the four years through Module Coordinators.

Many modules were considered as per the requirement for the program. Module Coordina-

tors were ratified by Internal Quality Assurance Cell. Module Coordinators are responsible for the

delivery of the teaching in individual modules and the accompanying administration. Module Co-

ordinators conducts meetings with Course Coordinators for execution of activities under their

module.

The course coordinator is respon-

sible for planning, delivering and as-

sessing the outcomes of the courses

offered by him/her during the semes-

ter/year. Course coordinators are ac-

countable to the Head of the Depart-

ment for all academic and administra-

tive activities associated with the

course. He/she has to work in coordi-

nation with the course advisor and

module coordinator for the day to day

activities and with the Program Coor-

dinator and the HOD for the overall

course administration. The course coordinator is expected to maintain academic quality in knowl-

edge, pedagogy and alignment of the learning activities with course outcomes and assessment.

Course advisor is designated wherever the same course is offered by different course coordinators

to different sections/classes. There are 10 modules for the Computer Science & Engineering pro-

gram. Each module consists of respective Module Coordinators. Program Coordinator will interact

with Module Coordinators. In turn, Module Coordinators will interact with Course Advisors and

Course Coordinators for the conduct of activities in the outcome based education process. Rigor-

ous meetings will be held in coordination with Program Coordinator, Module Coordinators,

Course Advisors and Course Coordinators for strengthening the curriculum. With the Outcome

Based Education, both teacher and students are benefitted.
