Friday, May 8 LONDON ARRIVALAfter landing at London Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities. Transfer to your hotel independently, check in and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Note: No coaching services are available on this day. Saturday, May 9 LONDON SIGHTSEEINGThis morning, set off on a guided tour to see some of London’s best-known landmarks. View the West End, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and much more. Stop to visit Westminster Abbey with its glorious medieval architecture, impressive tombs and monuments. Next, visit the Nurse’s Chapel, which holds the lamp used in the annual Florence Nightingale service each May. Then, visit Florence Nightingale Museum, which is dedicated to Ms. Nightingale, who was a pioneer in modern nursing. After your visit, you are free for individual pursuits and dining. Sunday, May 10 KENSINGTON PALACEEnjoy the morning at leisure to relax or sightsee on your own. In the afternoon, enjoy a gentle walk to Kensington Palace. During your visit, learn about the royal family who resided here from the 1690s until 1760 when George III moved to Buckingham Palace. Among the highlights are a display of court dress from 1760 to the present, including Princess Diana’s wedding dress. Continue on to visit the Science Museum before having afternoon tea, finger sandwiches, and scones with your group at a nearby venue. Spend the balance of the day free. Monday, May 11 STONEHENGEThis morning, visit Stonehenge, one of Britain’s most celebrated monuments. Set on Salisbury Plain, Stonehenge is comprised of the remains of a double circle of monoliths, which dates from approximately 3000 BC. It is believed to have been used by the ancient Druids for sun worship or as a burial ground. Then, drive into East Wellow and stop to visit St. Margaret’s Church, where Florence Nightingale is buried. Continue on to visit the Archives Department of the Salisbury Hospital, where Florence Nightingale served and now hold artifacts relating to her life. Tuesday, May 12 FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE CELEBRATIONAfter breakfast, journey into Windsor to visit Windsor Castle, the official residence of The Queen. Covering thirteen acres, this is the largest inhabited castle in the world. See the Upper and Middle Wards, the Round Tower and the Lower Ward where St. George’s Chapel is situated. Continue on to tour the Museum of Military Medicine before taking part in special activities (as arranged by your group leader) to commemorate Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Wednesday, May 13 ALEX FLEMING’S MUSEUM Today, tour the Old Operating Theatre before visiting St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Museum to learn about healthcare in London over the course of the last nine centuries. Next, visit Body Worlds to uncover what lies beneath human skin and the processes that make bodies function. Your final visit of the day will be to the Alexander Fleming’s Museum in St. Mary’s Hospital. Flemings reconstructed laboratory set in 1928, highlights his greatest achievements, which was discovering penicillin. After your visit, travel independently to the Royal Society of Medicine (subject to availability) to enjoy dinner with your group in a private room.Overnight: Copthorne Tara Hotel, London

Thursday, May 14 LONDON TO PARISLeaving London, drive to St. Pancras Train Station and enjoy a 2nd class Eurostar train ride to Paris Gare du Nord Station. Friday, May 15 PARIS SIGHTSEEINGEmbark on a guided walking tour through the Latin Quarter of Paris. Then, embark on a cruise along the Seine before visiting the Musee d’Histoire de la Medecine to see the oldest collection of medical, diagnostic and surgical instruments in Europe. Return to your hotel, where the rest of the afternoon and evening is free.Overnight: Novotel Paris Gare de Lyon, Paris

Saturday, May 16 PALACE OF VERSAILLESThis morning, journey into the wealthy suburb of Versailles and stop to visit the Palace of Versailles. The palace was home to the French Monarch and represented the center of political power in France from 1682 until the French Revolution, when the royal family was forced to return power to the people, creating the democratic society that remains to this day. The museum highlights the level of grandeur and wealth the monarch lived in before their downfall. After a guided tour of the palace, visit the beautiful gardens and water fountains that surround the palace. Continue on to visit the Pasteur Museum, to uncover the life of Louis Pasteur, a groundbreaking microbiologist, who laid the foundation for many lifesaving vaccinations. The evening is free to dine at one of the many restaurants or cafes scattered throughout Paris. Overnight: Novotel Paris Gare de Lyon, Paris

Sunday, May 17 PARIS AT LEISUREAfter breakfast much of the day is free to explore Paris, independently. You may want to visit Rodin Museum, Army Museum or the Eiffel Tower. You could also visit Luxembourg Gardens or take in a show at the Opera Paris Garnier. In the evening, meet your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Monday, May 18 DEPART PARISTransfer to Charles de Gaulle Airport to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying back to the United States.
