CREC’s new Regional Communities of Practice is a dynamic learning environment that provides teachers with sustained and targeted supports around key instructional themes. Membership includes three full-day sessions which will provide elementary and secondary teachers opportunities to meet, share in new learning, and collaborate in order to move beyond current practices.

Designed to provide districts with both structure and consistency, all Communities of Practice will explore three carefully sequenced themes over the course of the year:

Student Engagement – At No Cost! Inquiry Assessment *Differentiated Instruction OR Close Reading

*(To be determined by each community of practice)

Facilitated work sessions in the afternoon will serve as a bridge to implementation. Participants will focus on specific lesson planning/unit design, or designing professional learning opportunities that they can bring back to their colleagues.

*Teachers should bring current units of study for the work session.
