Creating a slide presentation in Google Docs

Log into your R-CCC G-mail. Press the tiled icon on the top right of the screen. When the application window opens, press the “Slides” button.

A window showing themes you can choose will appear. Click on your preferred theme and press the OK button on the bottom of the window.

This is the Google Docs Slides homepage. Press the yellow plus button on the bottom right to create a new presentation.

A new presentation will display as shown below. Click the “Untitled presentation” on the top left to enter a title for your presentation. Click where it says “Click to add title” to add a presentation title. Do the same for the bottom half where it reads “Click to add subtitle” if you wish to include a subtitle.

In order to add a new slide, press the “Slide” tab on the menu; then press the “New slide” option from the menu. You can also hold Ctrl and M at the same time to do this.

If you want a new textbox, press the button that looks like a T surrounded by a square. To move the box left click and hold the inside of the box with your mouse. Then drag it to where you want the box to be.

To insert an image, press the box with two mountains inside of it.

This window will show up. Press the “Choose an image to upload” button.

When you find the image you want to upload, click on it and then press the “Open” button.

You can edit the size and position of the image just as you did with the text box.

If you want transitions between slide, press the “Transition…” button.

A menu will appear from the right side of the screen. Press the transition you want to choose; then the “Play” button that appears. If you want the transition to happen to every one of your slides, press the “apply to all” button on the window.

The presentation is automatically saved. To download the presentation, click on File and then download as. . . Many instructors will want you to save as a PowerPoint file.
