Each year this incredible event helps us to connect, learn, and inspire each other — to create a community within our profession that makes each of us stronger. This year the conference organizing committee — supported by the CPHR BC & Yukon staff team — set out with a goal to do all that and more.

We want to provoke, to reach beyond our comfort zones to where we can create new and innovative solutions together, and to truly build momentum for the kind of change that we can’t achieve individually. I’m excited by changes we have added into the program to create the spaces and conversations where we can do that, and I invite you to engage actively and courageously.

Susan Ryan, FCPHR

Chair CPHR BC & Yukon

Anthony Ariganello, CPHR

President & CEO CPHR BC & Yukon

Now in its 57th year, the Annual HR Conference + Tradeshow has been creating momentum within our profession, and the broader business community we represent, for over half a century.

What has changed in the intervening years is almost everything about the HR profession, with the role and responsibilities evolving alongside our national CPHR designation to where we are today: leaders in our own right and strategic business partners throughout.

As always, this year’s conference organizing committee has crafted an event that aims ahead of the curve, offering up equal parts cutting-edge information, timeless inspiration and boundless opportunities to create momentum upon return to the real world. Their efforts serve us all, providing a beacon in challenging times, a bellwether of better days ahead and the chance to connect with the brightest minds within—and well beyond—the HR profession.

In the best of company, the opportunity before us all in the next two days is to create momentum that matters and makes a difference in the world in which we live.

Welcome to the 57th Annual HR Conference + Tradeshow where our focus is on providing you with the knowledge needed to motivate and move bigger pictures forward.

As HR professionals, you are being called upon to lead the charge of change, while demonstrating the true value of our most valuable resource. In the face of evolving technologies and talent supply scenarios, the connection between people and profits is not only being recognized, but bringing executive thinking in line with what has always been the HR “people-first” mindset.

With that and the theme of this year’s HR Conference + Tradeshow in mind, I invite you to make these two days the catalyst for even greater things to come —

“Create Momentum.”

To help you do just that, we have gathered a roster of speakers as dynamic as the teams, organizations and industries you represent. From the science of change to the secrets of success in a busy world and the empowering impact of creativity, our keynote presenters once more reach well beyond business as usual. Backed by a range of professionals in the many break-out sessions and on the tradeshow floor, the opportunity to connect, reflect and create momentum abounds.

Here’s to moving forward together.

WELCO

MEWelcome to what we have always considered the two most inspiring days of the year for the HR profession.
