President’s Message

It is an honor and privilege to serve as Chinese Real Estate Association of America, Inc. President in 2013. The real es-tate market has made a huge recovery since the dark days for distressed owners. Today, inventory is low and demand is high. What better market condition can anyone ask for? Properties are often sold or in escrow within a record short time on the market.

The discount days are over when more buyers from foreign countries are com-ing in droves to buy ‘bargain properties” in the US. Local residents are starting to bid and overbid at extraordinary amounts and terms to successfully make the purchase. The pent up demand for housing also help push the market recovery to a new height.

What will the Real Estate market be for the rest of 2013? Regardless, Chinese Real Estate Association of American, Inc is committed to serve consumers, com-munity, real estate professionals and industry locally and globally.

Chinese Real Estate Association of America, Inc. is happy to welcome a group of dedicated, committed and energetic new Board members. They are innovative and with determination, they showed that they can make a difference. Together, the new board achieved something that was remarkable by putting on a very suc-cessful education seminar right after the Christmas/New Year holidays and before the Lunar Chinese New Year Installation Dinner. The new board triumphed over the intense time pressure and manpower challenge during this festive season.

The Annual Home Expo, other educational seminars, mixers and special events are in the planning for this year. It promises to be an exciting 2013.

With Time-of-Use, Time MattersBeginning November 2012 and continuing over the next several years, many Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) small and medium business customers will move from a single flat electric rate to time-of-use rates. This is part of a statewide plan mandated by the California Public Utilities Commission to ensure greater power reliability and a better energy future.
