Collection Information• Place your recyclables in a visible
location at the curb by 7:30 a.m. on your collection day. Collection times may vary.
• Use CRD blue boxes, CRD blue bags. No garbage cans or oversized containers.
• Use clear bags for shredded paper. • If recycling is still out at
4 p.m., leave your materials at the curb and call Emterra at 250.385.4399.
• Regular pick-up on all statutory holidays, except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Refer to your schedule.

Remember• Tin and rigid plastic containers
and plastic packaging may be mixed together in the CRD blue box.
• Plastic bags and styrofoam are NOT accepted for recycling at the curb but are accepted at designated depots.
• Ensure that glass bottles and jars are placed in a separate CRD blue box. Remove lids and place lids with your blue box containing mixed containers.
• There is no limit to the amount of CRD blue boxes or CRD blue bags that can be left at the curb (use of other containers permitted provided they are not larger in volume than 47 litres or 12 gallons and are used in conjunction with a CRD blue box or blue bag).
• CRD blue boxes or blue bags will be left behind if they contain unaccepted items; drivers will “tag” contaminated blue boxes and blue bags so that residents can remove non-recyclables for the next collection day.

Remember
• Place newspapers and flyers loose in CRD blue bag, not inside plastic or paper bags. Remove plastic wraps.
• Remove liners from cardboard boxes. Flatten and place in blue bag, not inside a cardboard box.
• Shredded paper: tie shredded paper firmly in a clear plastic bag (no opaque, coloured or black bags).
• Remove plastic wrap from cardboard flats. If cardboard does not fit into the blue bag, flatten and tie in bundles no larger than maximum bundle size: 90 cm x 45 cm x 20 cm (36”x18”x 8”); staples and tape accepted; place bundles between boxes.
* All materials accepted, including paper and cardboard, are banned from the garbage

• Set recycling out on recycling day by 7:30am.• Prevent loose paper from blowing away,
make sure to use the CRD blue bag and place bag with open end folded under on top of CRD blue box.
Recycling Tips
