DISTRICT ATHLETICS CARNIVAL - COWRA

Cowra Public School students had a very successful day last Friday at the Cowra

District Athletics Carnival which was held at Twigg Oval. There were a number of

great performances and the sportsmanship and persistence shown by all the team

members was a credit to our students, their families and the school.

We had 19 students who gained a place in the District team to compete in Dubbo

on Friday, 30 August, including our Junior Girls, Senior Girls and Senior Boys relay

teams, who all placed first.

Two outstanding performances were those of Madeleine Mulligan and Matthew

Booker who were awarded Age Champions in Junior Girls and Senior Boys

respectively. Top effort from both of you!

I would like to thank those parents who came along to cheer their children on and

provide moral support and most especially Mr Tim Long who assisted with time

keeping all day. Mr Duncombe and Mrs Kelly were assisting with team management

and marshaling and their help was very much appreciated. A big congratulations

and thank you to all of the 40 plus CPS students who attended, behavior was
