AWC – Small Business Development Center – Mentoring
The AWC SBDC is available on site at the Yuma County Main Library - Coworking Oasis room. Mentors provide face-to-face individual and small group evaluation and guidance. Mentors have real life business ownership and management experience in the Yuma area for more than 15 years. If you have an idea and don’t know where to start, mentoring assistance by the SBDC can help you fast-track your plans for startup and growth. Registration is not required. This program is FREE and a library card is not needed to participate.
Look for the Coworking Oasis Calendar by going to http://yumalibrary.org/using-your-library/oasis/ or by calling the information desk at (928) 373-6482 to make sure the program is being offered before you show up. Holidays and School release periods affect availability of Mentors.
This is not a class or workshop. If you would like to discuss sensitive or private information, mentors will schedule a meeting at their office and sign a confidentiality waiver before meeting with you.
Drop-In Job Help
Get help with online job searches, resume writing, and other job search tools. This is a drop-in service available to any community member. If you have a special job/resume related topic that you need covered, send in a request by email to: [email protected]
Service Core of Retired Executives – Mentoring
SCORE mentors deliver FREE and confidential advice for your business needs. Whether you are a startup or existing business, our mentors will help you achieve your goals. To make an appointment to meet with a SCORE mentor, please send an email or call the number on the front of this sheet to set up an appointment. Brochures with information for SCORE is available in the Coworking Oasis.
Business Tax Forms
Small Business Tax Forms are available in the Coworking Oasis at the Yuma County Main Library. These forms are available for the current year in limited quantities. If a business form/publication is not available it can be ordered from the IRS. Orders from the IRS can take up to 3-4 weeks for delivery before they are available. Please make sure to email or call the library if you have any questions regarding the availability of business forms or publications.
Entrepreneurship/Small Business Classes
The Yuma County Library promotes local innovation and small business development for community members. These facilitated workshops teach lean startup methods in order to develop a successful business. Startup School facilitated classes are delivered as a sequence of small continuing education classes designed to teach participants introductory terminology for entrepreneurship, small business basics, and current information about how to reach customers and markets. See Calendar for Dates/times to participate in this class. Day time will change based on availability and interest.
Business Skills Training
Come to the library’s Coworking Oasis room. Drop-in to talk with the business librarian, use the room’s media center, ask questions, and use resources covering a variety of business topics. Topics are chosen by attendees to each session. The Library provides content and tools from a variety of online sources and databases for training.

A facilitator or business professional will present information a different topic related to their background or experience. Want to see a particular topic covered?
