COVENANTFELLOWSHIP CHURCH
2015 ANNUAL REPORT
WWW.CFCHOME.ORG
THEN HE SAID TO HIS DISCIPLES,
"THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL
BUT THE WORKERS ARE FEW.
ASK THE LORD OF THE HARVEST
THEREFORE, TO SEND OUT WORKERS
INTO HIS HARVEST FIELD."
MATTHEW 9:37-38

FROM OUR PASTORSTo Our Church Members, Past and Present, as well as Friends of CFC:
Over 26 years ago, God planted Covenant Fellowship Church on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. One morning as Pastor Min was praying, God etched onto his heart the deisre to produce workers for the kingdom of God (Matthew 9:37-38). It is with this vision that God has been working in the members of CFC but also through the members of CFC to become workers for God.
As we reflect back on 2015, we can see how God has been working faithfully in the members of CFC. Although the church has been in the same location since 1990, the demographics of CFC membership have changed since it first began. Many more out-of-state and international students can be found attending small groups and other church events as the admission of these students has increased at the University of Illinois. (The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana has the largest international student population in the U.S.) The number of non-university students also continues to grow as
post-graduates settle down in the community to work and build their families. With the increase of post-graduates living in the community, the number of children attending our church also continues to increase. In addition to being a church with many different age groups, we also have a diversity of ethnicities, with over twenty different ethno-linguistic groups represented at CFC. Although the demographics of the church have changed, through the preaching of God's Word and prayer, God continues to minister to the members of CFC.
God has also been working through the members of CFC to share His love with the world. Whether it has been through events such as the New Student Week Picnic or the Summer Festival, programs such as the Summer Missions Programs, or ministries such as International Student Connection, we are doing our best to share God's love with the world. It is our hope and prayer that CFC will be a church that will serve and love the Lord maximally, so that God will be maximally glorified in and through our lives. We desire for every day we live to be the day that we love Jesus the most. Difficulties may come along the way, but through the Word and prayer, we will fix our eyes on the One who is and always be faithful. May God be praised!
Raising workers for His kingdom!

Team Leaders: Pastor Jim Han / Reverend KJ Kim4 - Week Team: 13 participants, June 10 - July 82 - Week Young Adult Team: 3 participants, July 10-23
The purpose of this trip was to enable young adults and the recent college graduates of our church to serve in a cross-cultural ministry by Pastor Katsuya. CFC first started working with J-house back in 2004. We both share a common vision of raising up kingdom workers to be godly men and women in this generation. We worked with other missionaries in J-House to invite students from nearby campuses to the church and to share the Gospel with them. Also, we got an opportunity to help with two new church plants in Kobe and Kyoto. Our main focus was to bridge Japanese college students to the Gospel and connect them to the local church so that they, in turn, can be raised up to reach other Japanese people.

NORTHEAST ASIA TEAMTeam Leader: Pastor Sean LeeJune 15 - June 296 participants
This was the second year CFC worked alongside REAH International and a university in Northeast Asia to host a leadership program for college students. The program was designed to have lasting impact on the student leaders that were mentored by the faculty. The team provided career guidance and leadership skills that could help in their future to be global leaders, especially in that region. The team members gave seminars, taught English and built relationships with the college students.

From our humble beginnings with a small group of Sunday School students, CFC Summer School has expanded into a five-week program, which includes many children from the community as well. We continue to strive for a quality program (four week academic and one week VBS curriculum) through which we actively participate in domestic missions. Our purpose is teach and train all attending children the Gospel to ultimately impact generations to come.

Team facilitator: Amos Lee July 11 – July 285 participants
SHORT-TERM MISSIONS
CFC has sponsored the Kenya teacher trip for the past 7 years. Annually, we hold a 10 day conference and use this time to lecture, work in small groups, and worship together as the body of Christ. Our main focus throughout the conference was to create study guides using the Kenyan guidelines and provide these free of charge to the local teachers. These study guides are important in helping them study and prepare for their certification tests in order to be qualified to teach in the local schools. These church schools are important institutions in their communities and act as a ministry for the families who attend.

WE BELIEVE...... the Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
... in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
... that Jesus Christ is the true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, arose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of God the Father; He is our High Priest and Advocate.
... that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore totally lost, unable to save himself, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can he obtain salvation and eternal life.
... that only those whom God calls in His grace, through no choice of their own, will express faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
... that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ through faith and repentance become children of God.
... that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during that present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
... that the true Church is composed of all regenerated believers who are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head.
... in the personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this hope has a vital bearing on the present personal life and service of the believer.
... in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
