Irish dancing is a great workout and it also improves core strength and carriage.

This course is a combination of self-study and face-to-face mee-tings with the teacher, either at the Adult Education Centre or over the Internet (via Skype or ACP). You will study the book ”Svenska i Finland, Nybörjarkurs, Del 1” and work individually with tasks based on the book on a platform called Fronter. The course is divided into modules according to the chapters in the book, with a face-to-face meeting with the teacher at the end of each module. Further you are entitled to guidance between the modules, max 90 minutes per module. The course starts with an introduction at the Adult Education Centre on Friday Sept. 18th 10:00-11:30 a.m. where you will be introduced to the platform. (Please note that it would be helpful for you to have a Swedish-speaking person who could act as a support person and help you with your homework.

FinTandemVasa Arbis and the Adult Education Centre of Korsholm offer in cooperation language learn-ing through the tandem method. Practice Finnish, Swedish or other languages through communi-cation with a native speaker. In exchange you teach your mother tongue to your tandem partner.

During the school year we offer five gatherings for all participants at Vasa Arbis and the Adult Education Centre of Korsholm. Rest of the learning process is based on meetings with the FinTandem partner.Gatherings at Vasa Arbis, Thursdays from 5 to 6.30 p.m. on Sept 24, Nov 26 and Jan 14. gatherings at the Adult Education Centre of Korsholm, Thursdays March 10 and May 12 from 5 to 6.30 p.m. Coordinators Marika Boström and Leena Havu-Erhie. Employees at the municipalities of Vaasa and Mustasaari are offered FinTandem as further training (Finnish and Swed-ish) and students from different educational institutions can put participation in FinTandem down to their credits. Registration starts on the FinTandem website www. fintandem.fi from Aug 20 and we try then to find a suitable partner for you. Applications are accepted throughout the school year. Course fee: 25 € you will pay after you have got a FinTandem partner.
