FIRE STOPPING
All items noted below are to be installed in strict accordance with manufacturers requirements, technical data sheets, specifications and relevant fire test certificates.
HORIZONTAL COMPARTMENTATIONARC Cavity Stop Sock (CSS) cavity barrier / fire stop to provide 120 minute fire integrity and compartmentation to all slab edges. All ARC
Cavity Stop Socks to be sized to suit as-built cavity dimension and installed strictly in accordance with ARC's test criteria and recommendations. Installation of all horizontal Cavity Stop Socks must comply with the explicit test data outlined in Warrington Fire Test
Report No 406374. The position and overlap of all Cavity Stop Socks with any Metsec framing and/or masonry support angle must follow the diagrams outlined in the Warrington Fire Test Report. If alternate projecting / recessed brickwork is located at any fire stopping junction, the brickwork is to be rotated and cut to ensure a completely
flush, straight, and sealed backing for the fire stop, with no air path.
VERTICAL COMPARTMENTATIONARC Party Wall (PW) DPC cavity barrier / fire stop to provide 60 minute fire integrity and compartmentation to all party walls and any other compartment wall. All ARC barriers to be sized to suit as-built cavity dimension and installed strictly in accordance with ARC's test criteria and recommendations. Installation of all ARC PW DPC barriers
must comply with the explicit test data outlined in the relevant fire test report. All vertical Party Wall DPC barriers are to be installed against a blockwork backing or reinforced concrete substrate. 10mm thick x 440mm long stack bonded blockwork piers are required within the
Metsec zone to form a backing substrate for these barriers if no blockwork wall or reinforced concrete wall is present. If alternate projecting / recessed brickwork is located at any fire stopping junction, the brickwork is to be rotated and cut to ensure a completely
flush, straight, and sealed backing for the fire stop, with no air path. Refer to elevations for these locations.
WINDOW, DOOR AND
OTHER FAÇADE OPENINGSARC Cavity Stop Sock (CSS) cavity barrier / fire stop to provide at least 30 minutes fire integrity and protection to the perimeter of all window, door and any other external wall openings. All ARC Cavity
Stop Socks to be sized to suit as-built cavity dimension and installed strictly in accordance with ARC's test criteria and recommendations. Installation of all horizontal Cavity Stop Socks must comply with the explicit test data outlined in Warrington Fire Test Report No 406374. The position and overlap of all Cavity Stop Socks with any Metsec
framing and/or masonry support angle must follow the diagrams outlined in the Warrington Fire Test Report. If alternate projecting / recessed brickwork is located at any fire stopping junction, the brickwork is to be rotated and cut to ensure a completely flush,
straight, and sealed backing for the fire stop, with no air path.
