The students connue to grow and excel both in their curricular and extracurricular acvies. This is an excing me of the year as the seniors receive college acceptance leers and the underclassmen register for their courses for the 2016-2017 school year. I am proud of our students and faculty as they maintain their focus on high student achievement as we enter the season of state mandated tesng. Each student will be informed as to their assigned day for any assessments they will be taking. Parents, you can assist in your child’s success by ensuring your child is geng plenty of rest, eats breakfast, and arrives to school on me. The support our students receive from home has posive implicaons on their success during the school year and on the state assessments. In an effort to improve school pracces, Countryside High School is conducng a Parent Survey. We value your opinion and ask that you take the me to complete this survey. You may access the survey on our school website’s first page under “News”. As you are aware, absences and tardies affect a student’s ability to waive final exams. It is very difficult to recapture informaon and discussions that occur in the classroom. Regular school aendance is directly related to student success; therefore it is imperave students aend school every day. I encourage all parents to monitor your child’s progress on the FOCUS/Student Informaon System on the school district portal site. This is one of the best ways for a parent to stay engaged in their child’s educaon. As always, we welcome parental involvement and our family and community liaison will be glad to help you ulize your strengths in a volunteer or mentoring posion. I would like to congratulate two outstanding seniors for their academic efforts. Academic superiority is aained through using one’s intelligence, diligence, and movaon. These traits have been personified in these two students. Congratulaons to Nicolas LaCognata as the Valedictorian and Alex Adolphson as the Salutatorian of the Class of 2016. Sincerely, Gerald M.
