The move from 14.8 in Fall ’05 to 14.9 in ’06 gave Country its highest shares since 15.1 in Fall1999. The all-time high of 18.0 came in the fall books of 1992 and 1997. Country’s Average Market Format Shares (total, AM and FM) have grown more than 10% in the last five years. Country’s 14.9 leads all formats, with Hispanic next at 8.3, Urban Contemporary third at 7.0, CHR next at 6.8 and AC fifth at 6.6. The bad news is Country TSL levels have fallen to their lowest levels in the 16 years Katz has produced it study. The TSL among 25-54 Men fell from 7:59 (hours:minutes) in Fall ’05 to 7:34 in Fall ’06, while TSL among 25-54 Women was off from 7:09 last year to 6:57 this year. The highest 25-54 TSL levels were in 1990, with Men at 11:30 and Women at 10:29. Most disturbingly, Fall 2006 TSL levels for all age/sex demos hit their lowest levels of the last 16 years. The Fall ’06 TSL levels among Men in various age cells (with all-time TSL highs -- all of which were achieved in the Fall 1990 Arbitron -- in parentheses): 25-34, 6:39 (10:31); 35-44, 7:37 (11:21) 45-54, 8:22 (11:48); and, 55-64, 11:37.
