MINIMUM GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS 4 years of English (20 credits) Advanced Academic Literacy - AAL (2.5 credits) 3 years of Math, including Algebra I – (15 credits) 3 years of Social Studies (15 credits) – US History I, World

History, US History II 3 years of Science (15 credits) – Physics, Chemistry, Biology 2 years of the same World Language Total Arts (10 credits combined) – Practical Arts (5 credits)

Fine/Performing Arts (5 credits) 1 year of Phys. Ed. and Health for every year enrolled in a NJ

school Passing HSPA – March 2012

Math (1 day)- Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II Language Arts (2 days) – Reading/Writing/multiple-choice/open-

ended/editing & revising text Must have a minimum of 120 credits to graduate, including all

SAT VS. ACT

SAT 3 hours, 45 minutes 10 sections Critical Reading, 3 Math, 3

Writing (including essay), 1 Experimental (not scored)

Reading passages with questions pertaining to comprehension and sentence completion

Arithmetic, geometry, algebra, algebra II

Essay is required 1/3 math, 1/3 reading, 1/3

writing Penalties (typically ¼ point

deducted) for wrong answer

ACT 3 hours, 25 minutes (includes

optional 30 minute writing test) 4 sections English, Math, Reading, Science,

and optional writing test Reading: 4 passages, 10 questions

per passage Science (analysis, knowledge, and

problem solving) Arithmetic, algebra, geometry,

and trigonometry Essay is optional (final section) ¼ English, ¼ math, ¼ reading, ¼

science No penalties for wrong answers

 1.  What is the average class size? 2.  Is public transportation available? 3.  Is there enough housing available for students who want to live on campus? 4.  Does the school have a Placement Office to help students find jobs? 5.  Does the college give credit for the Advanced Placement Examination? 6.  Are academic or athletic scholarships available? 7.  How can I arrange a campus visit? 8.  Are interviews required or offered? 9.  How many of last years freshman class returned for their sophomore year?10.  How are roommates selected? If you want to change roommates, when can you do that?11.  How safe is the school? Are there campus guards available at night?12.  Do most of the students stay on campus on weekends or go home?13.  Can you have a car on campus?14.  Do you offer tutoring services for students if they need help?15.  Do you offer special living arrangements?16.  What is the average GPA of a typical freshman class?17.  Are there many on-campus events?
