Dear Family and Friends, I wanted to share a few things that have been going on my life. God has blessed me with so many awesome experiences. I started my new job at Food Bank for the Heartland over a year ago and it was been the perfect t for me. As the Director of Agency Relations, I work with the agency partners we serve. I also continue to volunteer with the high school ministry at Christ Community Church (CCC). God is doing some amazing things in the lives of the students there and I’m honored to be a part of it. Three years ago I was blessed to go on my rst missions trip to El Salvador with the high school ministry. God has used that mission trip in so many ways in my life. It was on this trip that God gave me perspective on what life is like outside the United States and gave me a heart for his people around the world. He also showed me what it truly means to be a servant. Since then, I have been praying for another opportunity to serve on a missions trip and God has provided one. I am going as a leader with the high school ministry to Costa Rica this June. We are partnering with Adventures in Mission, a missions agency, to serve in San Jose, Costa Rica. We will be ministering through a local church to share the gospel through Vacation Bible School, sports evangelism, and evening outreach activities. I am excited to serve alongside the students. I know the students will be greatly impacted by this trip. I am also expecting God to use this trip to grow my relationship with him just as he did in El Salvador. A trip like this would not be possible without prayer and support. Here a few things that I would appreciate prayer about: That many would come to know Christ through our ministry in Costa Rica That we are able to help people get connected to the local church we are working with there The students and leaders would be changed because of this experience and we would use this to grow in our walk with God. Safety while we are there and while we are traveling Each student and sponsor is expected to raise $1,450 for the trip. I have faith God will provide for this trip. Any nancial support that you could give me would be greatly appreciated, but please do not feel obligated or pressured to give. If you are able to assist with this trip, please make your check payable to Christ Community Church with my name in the memo line. I have included a self addressed stamped envelope. Gifts are tax deductible and the form is enclosed. As some of you know, my 30th Birthday is June 10th. I can’t think of a better birthday present than going on this missions trip. If you were planning on buying me a present, (again no pressure), I would ask instead that you would contribute to this trip. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you again for all your support. I am blessed to have a great family and so many amazing friends. Amy Gerhart Costa Rica Missions Trip 2011
