World Newsby Kimberly Cook

In addition to news circulating Haughton High School, there

are many noteworthy events taking place worldwide.

ISIS seems to remain in the world-wide headlines. This terrorist group has now begun stamping birth certificates with their official stamp. In the areas governed by ISIS, democracy, political thought, archaeology, tourism, and even hotel management are banned. They have taken control of hospitals, and now entertainment is regulated. ISIS has continued to gain control of aspects of civilians’ lives while threatening the lives of others.

This April, Taylor Swift publicly shared that her mother had been diagnosed with cancer. She revealed the news to her fans through the social app Tumblr as a precaution.

Swift said, “She wanted

you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they’ve got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle… Or peace of mind in knowing that they’re healthy and there’s nothing to worry about.”

After five billboard-topping years in the band, Zayn Malik left OneDirection. He called fellow band member, Harry Styles, at 2 A.M. to give news of his decision before releasing his official statement the next day.

Following many appearances, Hillary Clinton announced that she is running for president. Clinton has launched her campaign and is beginning to define the message behind her presidential bid, though it is not clear yet.

Words of WisdomGraduation is almost here, and,

for seniors, that means an entirely new world. The Class of 2015 has learned a lot through four years of high school. The senior Newsies wish to offer the underclassmen some of their own personal advice. Procrastinationby Dakota Digilormo

This has been said so many times, but do not procrastinate, especially when it is Spring Break and you have nearly ten assignments due before school starts up again. Just do a few things each day, and the list will be done before you know it. Trust me, it will make your life a lot easier when it comes down to it. Opennessby Taylor Breed

When you enter high school, most people have the same group of friends that get along, their previous idea from middle school of how school is supposed to be, and High School Musical scenarios

that they think will happen in high school. Well, none of that is true. You have to be open to the idea that things WILL change. Your friends will not be your friends anymore. You will not be able to go to bed every night at 9 o’clock. You will be stressed, tired, and lose friends. Then again, you will also realize who your true friends are, become proud of your accomplishments, and leave high school ready to take on the world. Don’t Take Things Too Seriouslyby Megan Birdwell

My advice to the underclassmen is to not take everything so seriously. From personal experience, that would be something I would go back and change. Too many nights I have put off something fun to pour over homework for hours. Instead, my advice is to go out and have fun. Your homework will be there when you get back.

Kindnessby Amanda Simmons

Once you leave here, you want to be remembered by everyone as someone who was always smiling and always kind. So today, take the initiative to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, thank your teacher (who’s probably knee deep in ungraded papers at this point), and brighten someone’s day with your smiling face!Optimismby Lillian Poe

Staying positive is the key to staying sane throughout your high school years. Keep your head up, and do not stress about the little things; the only thing that matters in the end is your diploma. Every day is one day closer to that, which is closer than it was before. Friendshipby Madison Farquhar

It is true that people change during high school. If they did not, everyone would stay in that

awkward stage for the rest of their life! Although people change and friendships come and go, it is important to always strive to never burn bridges. Even if you realize that you are not compatible with someone, there is no reason to treat that person badly. Be kind, even to people who are not your particular cup of tea.Love High Schoolby Ashley Smith

Four years may seem like forever, but your time here is actually short. Whatever you are involved in, make sure you enjoy it. No matter what grade you are in, it is never too late to get involved, so go to as many events as you can. The most important thing in high school behind education is that you love the moments that you spend here. These years are some of the most fun you will ever have, so stop counting down the days until you leave and start enjoying the moments you have left.

What will you miss most about Seniors?

Freshman Ashlynn Boyer said, “I’ll miss the happy attittudes and motivation that they bring to the campus.”

Dear Editor,I am tired of bringing the

same thing for lunch every day. What are some yummy but easy things to bring?

Juicy Junior,Camille Burson

Dear Juicy Junior, I like Lunchables and juice

boxes!

Dear Editor,My only friends are seniors;

how will my life go on once they leave?

Jolted Junior,Kacie Wilkinson

Dear Jolted Junior, Well, you will have to adjust

to being a senior yourself. Also, look forward to a great number of one-on-one conversations in calculus, being the only one left after May 5th.

Dear Editor,What tips do you have for

seniors on getting along with their college roommates next year?

Seeking Senior,Kelsey Baker

Dear Seeking Senior,Get to know your

roommate. Keep in mind that everyone has quirks, so be prepared to deal with those, just like with any other person. However, living with someone can be very different from simply knowing them as a friend. Adapting to this is easy, but it will be a process.

Dear Editor,How much stuff can you

stuff in a Stuffie ‘til your Stuffie stuffed enough stuff?

Quizzical Sophomore,Meagan McMillian

Dear Quizzical Sophomore,A Stuffie can be stuffed with

enough stuff to ascend to the next level of stuffiness in the scale of Stuffie stuffitude. The true amount of stuff is arcane knowledge that has been passed down through the ages by the Stuffie Stuffsters. Unfortunately, I am unable to gain access to the Stuffie knowledge.

Dear Editor, What should be my senior

vacay this summer?Summer-Ready Senior,

Taylor Frazier

Dear Summer-Ready Senior, I am going to recommend

the beach, at least for part of the summer. The ocean is great and the sun is wonderfully warm. The beach sands are a must-see this summer, for me at least.

Dear Editor,I am a senior this year!

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME MY LETTER HAS BEEN IN THE PAPER! What is the trick to get in the paper? Our underclassmen should know if they need to be funnier, or join a secret society, or just talk about certain topics! I have written a letter EVERY TIME! What is the trick to being in it?

Super Senior, Skylar Weinreber

Dear Super Senior, You must join the Society

of Prestigious Pugs, headed by Newsie Madison Farquhar. Only the letters of elite members of this organization are published in the Corsaire. The society is so secretive that some of the members do not even remember being inducted.

Dear Editor,How do you protect your

homework from tears?Just-Wondering Junior,

Rachel Needham

Dear Just-Wondering Junior, The best protection from

those salty secretions would be to invest in a lamination machine. No teacher wants homework with water damage.*

Dear Editor,What is the best way to get

tan really fast?Scarily-Pale Sophomore,

Cailey Davis

Dear Scarily-Pale Sophomore,The first thing you want

to do is to wait for a sunny day. Go outside and find the premium spot for absorbing rays. Remember, everything is good in moderation.*

Now it is May 1st, and my senior year has come to a close. Anyway, it has been a great year, and I hope all of you have had as much fun as I have.

After-Grad Plansby Madison Farquhar

It is the classic scene from High School Musical. It is the last day of school, and the class clicks their bright yellow number two pencils against the harsh wood of the desks as they each chant, “Summer, summer, summer.” For seniors, however, it is different. Instead of leaving these halls with the comforting promise of returning after two and half months, they are departing Haughton High School for the last time. Although it is bittersweet, most seniors are ready to move on to the next chapter of their lives, and this begins with summer.

Many seniors are planning on hitting the beach this summer and catching some sun.

Senior Shelby Cooper said, “I am going to Daytona with my best friends!”

Senior Ted Henderson said,

“I can’t wait to be chilling on the beach in Panama.”

Other seniors are adventuring out into other places.

Senior Sydney Post said, “I’m headed to the Big Apple.”

Senior Chelcy Swint said, “I’m headed to Kentucky to beat the competition with my archery skills.”

Senior Hunter Hunsucker said, “I’m going ghost hunting with my friends.”

Seniors Brad Rachal and Adam Holder said, “We’re going on a cruise to Mexico.”

No matter where seniors are headed during the precious few months before they begin their journey into their new lives as graduates, be sure to make it memorable. This summer vacation is so much more than a vacation. It is the start of a new chapter of their lives.

Tips for Surviving in THE REAL WORLD:

1. Communication is key. Whether it be college interviews, job interviews, or just meeting new people, communication skills are essential in the real world. When possible, try speaking to people in person rather than over the phone.

2. Spend your money wisely. Whether you plan to attend college or not, money will most likely be scarce. Focus on necessities, and try creating a weekly or monthly budget.

3. Do not procrastinate. Time efficiency is not only essential in school but in the real world. As you grow older, you have less time to finish things. From paying bills to arriving on time to an interview, time management is essential.

Senior Year Expectationsby Lillian Poe

Congratulations, juniors, on completing the most stressful year of high school. Many people argue that junior year is the most difficult year academically and that senior year is the perfect ending to high school. Along with a lightened course load, senior year holds so much in store for you all.

An experience you can feel only as a senior is that of being the top of the school; the underclassmen will look to you for guidance and as an example. Although your senior friends may be leaving this year, you will make new friends to whom you will eventually have to say goodbye as well.

Your life after high school will be looming over you the entire year, and your choices concerning your future will become more important. Get ready for researching career and college choices. If you are going the

college route, be prepared for the never-ending pile of applications and scholarship packets.

The countdown until graduation suddenly becomes real. As of right now, you have over a year left. That sounds so far away, but pretty soon the numbers will become so small, and it will seem likes days are flying by. Today, the seniors only have one and a half days left, and, eventually, so will you.

You have spent the last eleven years in school, and it will all come to an end in a little over a year. It is a bittersweet (mostly sweet) time where, even though you are happy to leave and start a new chapter in your life, you will still start to cherish your last remaining days as a high school student.

From living with a roommate to living in a condensed space, dorm living

can be far from comfortable. Living in a dorm can be a huge part of the college experience, but it can take some time to get used to. Living in a comfortable environment is important if you want to be successful in your academics and get the most you can out of college life.

• Decorations: Customize the parts of your dorm that you can by using rugs, nice bed spreads, posters, or curtains. Use your favorite colors as a color scheme to add a little pop to your otherwise bleak and boring dorm room.

• Lighting: If you do not like fluorescent lighting, do not forget to bring your own lamps. These come in many different colors creating a more comfortable atmosphere than the bad lighting of the average dorm room.

• Make it homey: Bring pictures of your friends and family to either put up on walls, or put them up in picture frames. This takes away the standard dorm room feel and makes it more like “your space.”

• Keep out the clutter: Only bring the essentials—do you really need your entire wardrobe stuffed into your small closet and dresser? Donate all of your good ‘ol Haughton High shirts to underclassmen to avoid bringing unnecessary clothing.

• Do your chores: Do not let clothes pile up or allow dishes to sit in the sink; keep a cleaning routine and stick to it. It may be hard to keep up with housekeeping between your social and academic lives, but the extra effort will be rewarded.

After a long day of classes and studying, you do not want to come home to a dorm room that looks like a prison cell. Make it cozy so you can enjoy your college experience.

Reader of the Year: Josh Marshall Every year for our last edition, the Newsies come together and think of students and teachers who we remember that talked about, donated to, and always read each edition of the Corsaire. The 2014-2015 Corsaire Reader of the Year goes to Josh Marshall! Marshall has been an avid reader of all five of our editions and surely of this edition, too. Marshall always puts money in the tip jar when the Newsies come into his classroom. He said

that his favorite part of the paper is the features, and that he turns to the two-page spread first every time he receives a paper.

Marshall said that his favorite edition was the Homecoming paper, and his favorite story from all five papers was “Unusual Sports.” Marshall said, “I feel special about being chosen for the Reader of the Year. I love reading stories from every section in the Corsaire. I also know how hard the Newsies worked on each edition, so I had no problem giving them a

couple of bucks each time.”

Graduation day has crept up on seniors, and many are questioning what they should wear under their gradution gowns on the big day. For some girls, the clicking of heels could be that of their worst nightmares. Flats are always a great alternative for those possibly lacking coordination and looking to be comfy throughout the ceremony. Wedges will also be popular on graduation day. Stick to neutrals like brown, black, and white to avoid clashing with the red gown. A patterned or solid-colored dress, excluding red, of course, would look great for pictures after the ceremony. Make sure your dress is an appropirate length, especially if you are wearing

heels. Heels elongate your legs, which can create the illusion that your dress is shorter than it actually is. Stray away from clunky accessories; your graduation cap is enough to suffice. Also, to avoid hair as flat as the Great Plains, tease your hair before putting on your cap, so it will not be so flat for pictures. Guys, stick to slick-fitted khakis or black dress pants. Pair this with a button up shirt of any color and a solid colored tie to look dapper. Style your hair in a way that suits your face best. Avoid radical haircuts the day before gradution. You have made it through four years of high school, so celebrate the day by looking your absolute best.

Last Minute Beach Bodyby Ashley Smith

Most people have a goal body weight for summer and a semester-long diet to reach it. What happens when there are only a few weeks left before school is out and you cannot shed those winter

pounds? The best way is not one of the fad diets like not eating carbohydrates (bread, chips, etc.) or not eating at all. Those can be harmful to your body. So, in this last month of school, set your mind to eat right. Here are a few good tips: First, try cutting back the calories that you take in through drinks, especially if they have caffeine and carbonation in them. Substitute Coke or sweet tea with

water or light lemonade. Also, when the body needs water, it typically sends signals to the brain that make a person feel hungry instead of thirsty. So when you feel hungry, it is a good idea to drink a 20 oz glass of water and then wait 30 minutes before you eat. Second, swap bad food with good. Instead of eating chips or popcorn, eat carrots, celery, or raw broccoli with light Ranch. If you do not like vegetables, try fresh fruit. When you go out to eat, get white meat instead of dark, grilled chicken or fish instead of fried, and vegetables or a salad instead of fries. Third, know when to eat. If you skip a meal when you are supposed to eat, you will become hungry later and most likely grab an unhealthy snack. Also, it is a good

idea to make a healthy meal if you know that you will be away from the house when you need to eat. That will keep you from grabbing fast food. It is best to eat a good breakfast and a light dinner. Eating breakfast will jumpstart your metabolism, but your body will not burn off all of a large dinner while you sleep. Lastly, if all else fails, when you go swimming, you can wear a T-shirt and gym shorts, draw on a six pack with a sharpie, or wear one of these.

Mrs. Goslin Strikes Back

Hey Haughton-ites,Goslin Girl here! Your one

and only source into the lives of the newsroom. Spotted: Senior newsies trading their Corsaire badges for caps and gowns. You may think they’ve already given you the scoop, but I’ve been collecting the real stories all year. And I think it’s time to spill. You didn’t think I’d go down without a fight, did you? Goslin Girl always gets the last word!

Madison Farquhar, Senior Reporter

Don’t worry M, you’ll always be a winner if you wait ‘til the game’s over to pick a team. Even though your moon might be in Venus this month, there’s plenty of glitter to keep you going. A little birdie told me you plan to keep

Raising Cane at Northwestern next year. Tip: Make sure you have an alarm code handy before the cops arrive!

Lillian Poe, Copy Editor

Catch Her a Pastrami on Rye! By the way Little L, we hear the best way to smoke a reclusive author out of hiding is to send him a meat tray. Just don’t ask this Mistress of the Cricut to make the card from scratch—even hermits can’t wait forever!

Ashley Smith, Photographer

Time to let you in on a little secret: the Mad Hatter of the newsroom may have gone bonkers, but the best people are always a little berserk! Seen in the halls: one photographer running up to capture a shot, then back out to escape the bugs. If you’re trying to escape my reach, though, you’ll have to try harder than Harding!

Megan Birdwell, Sports Editor

Who’s the Corsaire’s favorite

It-Girl? She’s Megan Birdwell. I guess outside hitters can become inside favorites after all. Can’t stop a girl from rooting for her Cowboys, especially when she’s on a mission to get Justice for all. Watch out, though, do too much good and someone might think you’re a Saint!

Amanda Simmons, Features Editor

So, hear the one about the girl who got hit in the head with a soda? Lucky for her, it was a soft drink. Not lame enough for ya, Pun Princess? Good thing pre-med should keep you out of the “bored” room—sources say this senior was seen snoozing through slideshows. Want a PowerPoint you can stay awake to? Donuts, Sandwiches, Rolls, Drinks and more!

This is a government dossier containing classified

information on the town of Haughton, Louisiana. In this file, there are unimaginable secrets, mind blowing “truths,” and things that make you go “hmmm.”

The first of our revelations is about the actual founding of Haughton. It turns out the original settlers of Haughton stumbled upon this land and founded our town but they also found shape-shifting reptilian race Turnangurths. These lizard-people are still around today, with some posing as students and faculty.

Another completely true story is of the secret cryptozoology museum beneath the Haughton Animal Museum. This is a museum dedicated to cryptids and monsters of all description. There is a stuffed Sasquatch, some enchanted objects, and multiple conspiracy boards. The only way to access this part of the museum is to pull

the right antler of the third deer on the left and to give them the secret password, “Jet fuel cannot melt steel beams.”

The following is the final secret we have been able to ascertain about this strange little town. Deep beneath the Haughton High School football stadium, there lives a great beast, almost sixty feet long and thirty feet wide, with the body of a serpent and the head of a platypus. Its name, Jo-Ann. Once every four years on February 29th, Jo-Ann awakens, slithers through her elaborate underground tunnels, and steals produce in the dead of the night. It is a powerful beast, and is truly unstoppable.

The FBI is currently working to deal with these problems. We suggest that the town be evacuated immediately with extreme prejudice. This information is highly sensitive and would cause panic if released to the general population. This document will self-destruct in 5...4...3...2...1...

Celebs in High Schoolby Mason Hooper

Even in high school, Angelina Jolie looked like the fierce queen she is today.

Wow! What a great pic of this funny guy, Jonah Hill. He sure has slimmed down since his high school days.

It is hard to believe that this pop superstar, Lady Gaga is rocking a drab skirt and a top rather than a dress made of meat with a matching headpiece.

Young Johnny Depp was certainly quite the looker. Unfortunately, he does everything he can to hide this little known fact by choosing to portray outlandish characters.

Queen Bee, Beyoncé Knowles, was still picture perfect even as a Destiny’s “teenager.”

Aries (March 21- April 19) – By nature, you are a short-tempered person. It might be tempting to

finally tell off that teacher who lost your 8-page research paper. However, your days at high school are numbered, and you want to leave this place with people remembering you fondly. Taurus (April 20- May 20) – You have not even graduated yet, and the only thing on your mind is how you are going to spend your graduation money. Do not get caught up in the materialistic aspect of graduation; instead, cherish these last moments with your high school class. Spend time, not money.Gemini (May 21- June 20) – We are in the beginning half of May and you have yet to decide your college major. Fortunately, you are blessed with many talents, and any field would be lucky to have you. Follow your heart and choose a field you can see yourself being happy in. Cancer (June 21- July 22) – Do not get bogged down by all of the enormous number of tasks coming at you. Instead of dwelling on the seemingly impossible, embrace Nike’s slogan, and “Just do it.” Leo (July 23- August 22) – You are conflicted about what to do after school on the day we get out. Do you go to the lake with the rest of your class or just go home and watch Netflix? Instead of being a home-body, take a chance and go to the lake with everyone; you will not regret it!

Virgo (August 23- September 22) – You have your life planned out to the color you want your curtains to be in your first apartment. This summer, an opportunity will come your way that you did not already have etched in your planner. Be flexible. A spontaneous decision can come to fruition and may be the best decision you have ever made.Libra (September 23- October 22) – This summer, surround yourself with friends because we all know that is when you are the happiest. Spend the precious next months making memories with the friends you have kept closest in high school, and also look forward to the friendships that are yet to be made.Scorpio (October 23- November 21) – A lot of money is going to come your way on graduation day. Instead of blowing it on your truck or a high-end shopping spree, save that money to decorate your dream college dorm. Sagittarius (November 22- December 21) – Prom is over, and the year is coming to a close, but that does not mean life should. Do not dwell on the past; embrace the exciting future! High school is just a stepping stone to the rest of your life.Capricorn (December 22- January 19)– Friendship is extremely important to you, Capricorn, but lately, there is some tension in your friend group. Everyone is stressed over graduation and finals, so be understanding of a few mood swings. Also, have a heart to heart to talk over the tension.

Aquarius (January 20- February 18) – You have had nightmares every night this month about tripping on the stage in front of everyone at graduation. Face it, Aquarius, that is a possibility because you are the clumsiest sign. To avoid a disaster of The Lizzy McGuire Movie proportions, wear shoes with extra grip and rehearse your walk in your kitchen the night before.Pisces (February 19- March 20) – You are notorious for dropping off the face of the Earth every summer. This summer try and stay in touch with your classmates. The next time you see them after this summer may not even be until your ten-year class reunion. Cherish these two months or so.

For senior athletes, the end of the season can be bittersweet. There are no more 5 A.M. practices or late night games, but there are also no more team bonding moments or game days. Most senior athletes have put their hearts and souls into their team and are confident about what they have left behind at HHS. Senior baseball player Seth Ryan said, “I feel good about the future of baseball here. The freshman and sophomore classes are loaded with talent. Also, the number of freshmen we have on the team is the biggest we have ever had.” Senior wrestler Pearson Harbour said, “The Red Baron will carry on my legacy.” Senior cheerleader Luna Karkar said, “I think the squad is going to be great. The bigger the squad, the better! Also, Mrs. Shaw is a great sponsor, so the squad is in good hands.” Senior softball player Anna Dies said, “They might struggle at the beginning, but I have faith that they will better each other and get better as a team.” Senior track runner Zach Smith said, “I think they will do well; they just have to remember to stay positive. You may not be as

fast as the other runners, but strive for greatness.” Senior soccer player Sydney Post said, “I feel confident they will be successful next season because they will be moving down a division and be against competition that will help improve their skills.” Senior basketball player Brittney Stone said, “I think that it will be a good season for them next year because there are six returning players who will be seniors, and hopefully there will be a lot of leadership as they work well together.” Senior football player Will Haines said, “Whereever Darius Brooks takes them.” Senior highstepper Skylar Weinreber said, “I’m excited to see what the new captains have in store for next year. I know new traditions will be implemented this next year, and although things will change I know whatever happens will be only to help and improve the steppers.” No matter what sport someone played, leaving the teammates, coaches, practices, and game days are always harder than one might think.

Summer is almost here! The recommendation for physical activity each day does not change because school is not in session. Warm summer months make it a great time to be active. Engaging in outdoor physical activities keeps you healthy by boosting the immune system, helping to maintain a healthy weight, and contributing to a good night’s rest. It is tempting to stay indoors during the hot summer months, but do not let that discourage you from getting your daily dose of physical activity.

DO:• Exercise at least an hour a day.• Encourage other family members to exercise, too. • Eat healthy.• Drink plenty of water.

DO NOT:• Sit around.• Watch Netflix without at least a break.• Sleep all day.

Congratulations to senior Hannah Logan! She has been chosen by Coach Haley as the May girls sports spotlight! Logan is a runner on the girls track team, participating in the 800-meter dash and the mile relay. Logan has proven herself as a runner, placing 2nd and 3rd in the 800-meter dash with a personal record of 2:47.43. This achievement comes after years of practice, as Logan first joined the track

team at Haughton Middle School back in 7th grade. She has been running for all six years since. Logan said, “I hate track up until the point when I cross the finish line, and then, in that moment, I love track.” In addition to track, Logan plays soccer, both on the high school team and club soccer, where she specialized in the right outside mid-position and participated in Haughton’s Cross Country team. As a senior, Logan has successfully maintained a 4.0 GPA for her entire high school career. Alongside sports and academics, Logan is an active member of the Haughton High School Red Jackets, Beta Club, and serves as a Senator on the Student Council. Coach Haley said, “Hannah is one of the hardest workers that we have and she is a leader on the team. She makes sure that everyone on the team practices and works hard.”

“Don’t think about the start of the race. Think about the ending.” -Usain Bolt

DO:• Exercise at least an hour a day.• Encourage other family members to exercise, too. • Eat healthy.• Drink plenty of water.

DO NOT:• Sit around.• Watch Netflix without at least a break.• Sleep all day.

Congratulations to senior Zach Smith! Smith was picked by track Coach Jason Brotherton. Smith is a member of Haughton’s track team, participating in the 800-meter run and anchoring the 4x400 meter relay team. Smith has been on the track team for all four years at HHS. Smith has been running track for the past six years, ever since

middle school. When asked about Smith, Coach Brotherton said, “He has worked hard over the last three years to achieve the success he is having this year. He has finished first or second in the 800-meter run in every meet we have had this season. He also anchors our 4x400 meter relay team that won the parish championship.” While keeping up with practices, workouts, and track meets, Smith is also able to maintain a 3.2 GPA. He supports our HHS football team in The Crew. He is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, YACA, and SADD. When asked how he feels about his sport, Smith said, “I just keep running, determination is key. Track has been my life for the past six years, and I am happy about the things that I have accomplished. I am thankful for the opportunities that track has presented me.”

With high school athletics closing, seniors are stepping away from their Haughton High School courts, fields, and mats for the last time. After years of tryouts, summer workouts, regular seasons, and (hopefully) postseasons, the seniors are bound to have left their mark on their teams. Senior baseball player Trey Morris said, “I feel like I was a good role model to my other teammates. I did all I could to help us win.” Senior volleyball player Emiline Hoskins said, “I have left them with leadership. I think I have also left them with encouragement and determination as well.”

Senior softball player Natalie Smith said, “I feel like they will do great the next season. I feel like I have left them with lessons they will use for a lifetime.” Senior football player Mason Moreau said, “A little bit of leadership on the line that was not there before I played.” If a senior left an impact on one player, his or her seasons were not in vain. Do not be too sad about the seniors leaving. Say “Goodbye” to the seniors and “Hello” to the future generation of Haughton High athletics.
