This document shows the relationship between the Revision 4 and its predecessor, Revision 3.1, of the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC) at the most detailed level. The links between the two classifications are shown in both directions. Part I of this document shows the direction from ISIC Rev. 3.1 to ISIC Rev.4, while Part II shows the opposite direction. An asterisk (*) next to a code indicates that only a part of this code is involved in that particular link. If a link involves a complete ISIC class on either side of the link, no separate description of the link detail is given. The definition of the complete class involved in this link serves as description for the link. In some cases, ISIC Rev.3.1 made exceptions for the treatment of vertically integrated activities. In such cases, additional links between the two classifications were necessary to reflect the different criteria based on share of value added. These links are shown in Italics in the table.
