SACRAMENT OF THE SICK The Pastor invites any person who is going to the hospital to receive this Sacrament. Also invited to receive the Sacrament are those who are ill or elderly who cannot come to Church. Please contact the rectory to arrange for the celebration.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM (Infant) The sacrament of baptism is celebrated the last Sunday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the Upper church. Parents wishing to register their child for baptism are asked to contact the rectory and to speak with a member of the pastoral staff to arrange the date. The instruction class, to which all parents and godparents are invited, is held in the rectory on the Sunday before the baptism at 2:00 PM.

CANDLEMAS DAY This Thursday, February 2nd, we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. This is the traditional day for the blessing of candles. If you bring candles with you, they will be blessed at the beginning of the Spanish Mass at 7:00pm in the lower church. SAINT BLAISE This Friday, February 3rd, we celebrate the feast of St. Blaise, Bishop of Sebaste in Armenia, who was martyred at the beginning of the fourth century. St. Blaise is associated with the healing of throats. There will be the “blessing of throats” with blessed candles after the 12:05pm Mass. The blessing may be given by a priest, deacon or lay minister. Fr. Mawn

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

You are invited to join in our weekly Eucharistic . Every Friday the lower church is open Adoration

from 9 a.m. through 7 p.m. Please give a half hour or hour of your time to come in and pray for your special intentions and those of our parish.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES Classes are held at the Parish Center from 10:00am– 11:30am on Sundays as scheduled. New students are welcome throughout the school year. You may bring your child /children to the parish center and register before classes begin. Additional material regarding the program may be found at the ramp entrance of the church and at the parish office. ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY If you would like to make a donation for the poor please put your offerings during the year for our parish’s St. Vincent de Paul Society in an envelope marked as such. [“St. Vincent de Paul”, “for the poor” or “for the needy”] or use the envelopes that we have available in the upper Church and put it in the collection.

AWAY FOR THE WINTER!

In the event that you will be away for a good portion of the winter; please notify the Rectory Office so that we may discontinue mailing your envelopes. Tell us how long you will be away and we will resume mailings upon your return. If you would like to keep up with what’s going on in the Parish, we would be happy to send the bulletin to your winter address.



WEATHER CLOSINGS & DELAYS The Winter Season is almost upon us and we would like to inform you that you can check weather cancelations or delays on any of the activities of the parish on Channel 5 WCVB or their website www.TheBostonChannel.com. We suggest to the parents who have their children enrolled in our Religious Education Classes that they can sign up to receive closing and delays via text message to cell phones or PDAs. They can sign up for the service by going to TheBostonChannel.com and then to the Weather section. Once there, they can click on the Closings icon to go through the sign up process.

World Day for Consecrated Life will be celebrated in the Church on February 2, 2017 and in parishes on the weekend of February 4-5, 2017. Please pray for all those who have made commitments in the consecrated life, and be sure to thank them on their special day. May they continue to be inspired by Jesus Christ and respond generously to God's gift of their vocation.

Éste es el día tradicional para la bendición de las velas. Si usted trae velas con usted, serán bendecidas al principio de la misa de las 7:00pm. EL DIA DE SAN BLAS Este viernes 3 de febrero, celebramos el Día de San Blas, obispo de Sebaste en Armenia, quien fue martirizado al principio del siglo IV. A San Blas se le asocia con la cura de gargantas. Habrá la “bendición de gargantas” con velas bendecidas después de la misa de las 12:05pm. La bendición puede ser dada por un sacerdote, un diácono ó un ministro laico.
