Illicit drugs use is rampant in the State of Punjab,

Intensive research was done to determine start point.

Based on research, the most affected Blocks of Tarn Taran-District wereselected, namely; Bhikhiwind and Valtoha.

Addiction among youths causes substantive loss: to the individual, thefamily, the society, the state, and the country.

The situation is likely to worsen further if a structured approach is notput in place.

To bring back the fading glory of Punjab & to save its rich culture and values

Awareness:– Organize educational and promotional programs for creating awareness on Drug De-Addiction.– Make use of all Electronic media, Social media and Human Resource for home to home

communication about Drug De-Addiction.

Restoration:– Provide Counseling to strengthen the recovery– Drug De-Addiction treatment with behavioral based training for sustainable life style– Continuous support through volunteers to bring back the victims into the main stream of the

society

Rehabilitation:– Provide vocational guidance– Impart education, skill development programs (need based) to develop self confidence &

belief.– Support for employment

Intensive Programs:

Drug De-addiction training to 35 local educated unemployed youths.

The drug de-addiction awareness program which had:

Door to door family counseling and survey

Drug De-addiction Drama in villages

Awareness meetings with like minded people.

Display of posters, stickers and banners etc. at conspicuous places.

Use of Social Media-Facebook, Whatsapp etc.

Free drug de-addiction treatment from an expert psychiatrist to identified willing addicts and periodic medical test for monitoring improvement.

Survey of addicts to understand rehabilitation needs, ‘What They Want Us To Do For Them’.

Tailoring Skill Development and other need based training programs and job portal for rehabilitation of treated persons is in progress.

Impact of our program:

30 full time trained volunteers are taking care of their 145 villages.

23,400 Households Surveyed and made aware about the drug deaddictionprogram.

660+ youths had broken denial stage an addiction and opted for treatment.

‘Teesri Jung’ – A Drama illustrate impact of Drugs on Victim, family and society.

58 such Dramas shown in 58 villages, approx., 35,000 audience have beensensitized.

62 short films/documentaries on drug de-addiction in villages had shown.

< 15,000 people participated in a rally on the World Drug Day, 2016.

People have understood that its curable disease and they want to come outfrom its addiction.

What it is?

It is an educational development program for an Academic Performance Improvement of the Tribal Students.

Location:

Govt. Ashramshala, Village: Dabheri, Tehsil: Jawahar, District: Palghar, Maharashtra.

Why we’re supporting the Shaskiya Ashramshala, Dabheri?

• It is in a remote village around 180 Km ahead from the Thane, Maharashtra.• Around 850 students of Std. 1st to 11th of Ashramshala were deprived of quality

education.• Shortage of qualified teachers.• Poor school infrastructure.• Students study, sleep and dine in the same classroom.• Need to raise the standard of living of the most deprived tribal community

through quality education.

Impact of our intervention:

• Educational standard and living of around 850 students has increased considerably.• E-Learning, Computer Classes and Library has increased access to quality

educational resources.• Almost zero percent illness found after starting of Safe Drinking Water, Hand wash

station and Hygienic bathrooms and toilets facilities for the students.• Absentee rate of girls students has fallen considerably due to an installation of

sanitary napkin dispensation units in the school.• Attention span and comprehension ability of the students has increased

significantly.• The Ashramshala’s grade has improved from C to B.• Fuel consumption for cooking has dropped up to 30% due to an installation of

Modern Gas based Steam Cooking System.• Performance of students has improved in the area of sports as well. They’ve won

many medals in Athletics and Kho-Kho.• Performance og Govt. teachers has improved due to ongoing training and better

teaching facilities.

An educational development program for farmers’ children at Babai, Hoshangabad, M.P.

Why we have adopted it?

• It is the only CBSE affiliated School in the Babai area(22 Km from the Tehsil-Hoshangabad), which caters to around 45 villages.

• It was started in the year 2004 for providing quality education to the children of theunderprivileged farmers.

• Local school management wasn’t able to maintain its standard due to financialconstraints thereby affecting the quality of education to the students.

How we are making a turnaround of the school?

Now the overall turnaround has begun with:

– An appointment of the CBSE Consultant for overall school development andmanagement.

– Experienced teachers have been appointed. Ongoing training imparted tothem as per the CBSE standards and norms.

– Better school infrastructure - advanced Computer & Science labs, Library,play ground, CCTV surveillance, Safe bus services etc. are in place.

– Holistic education as per the NCF and SQAA standard and guidelines.

Testimonials The condition of the classroom were in very bad shape- poor conditionof plaster, flooring, walls and wiring of electricity would have causeddanger to the children. The classrooms were in need of an urgentrepair and attention. But due to funding problem, the SAPREM’smanagement seemed helpless.Meanwhile, the Dorf Ketal has taken a call to help SAPREM and did thecomplete makeover of the school by developing dilapidated classroomsinto the modern classrooms by providing all latest amenities- that isrequired for the special need children.Now children sit in the AC classrooms- they are doing well. Why we are supporting?

Each year about 2.2 million people develop TB in India

An estimated 220,000 die from the disease.

TB can affect any age, caste or class.

The economic burden of TB is extremely high.

Between 2006 and 2014, TB cost the Indian economy a massive USD 340 billion.

India is the country with the highest burden of TB.

More than 1/5th of World’s TB population lives in India.

It is estimated that, about 40% of the Indian population is infected with TB bacteria, the vast majority of whom have latent TB rather than TB disease.

Moreover cases of MDR/XDR TB are increasing day by day.

TB is a tickling BOMB for Mumbai due to its high density and floating population.

What it is and why we’re doing it?

Socio-economic empowerment of women is crucial for their realemancipation. Thus, Dorf Ketal provide support to such initiativesthat provide skills and subsequently a sustainable livelihood to theunderprivileged women.

Presently we are supporting:

1. Early Childhood Development (ECD) Teachers TrainingProgram for educated unemployed women at Mumbai.

2. Training-cum-production programmes of decorative domesticproducts of local indigenous reed – “kauna” at Imphal,Manipur.

About the program:“Three unassuming women became the redeemers for India at the Rio Olympics as the countryconcluded its campaign with some good, bad and ugly memories” - (Times Of India).

It is a brief story about- a country of 120 million population.

Sports is a neglected area in our country. There is enough talent in our youth. But lack of properplanning and timely help from the concerned authorities shatter their dreams.

To counter this gap, we’ve initiated to adopt sports persons of high potentials but who arefacing financial problems to materialize their dreams.

Considering the importance of the intangible cultural heritage as a mainspring of culturaldiversity and a guarantee of sustainable development we’ve started to support lessorknown performing arts and artists to preserve, protect and promote it.

Why Kerala?

State of Kerala is a historically significant, ecologically rich, socially distinct, culturallydiverse and economically poor state with many constraints.

Deterioration of cultural heritage is a major among other issues that the state is facingdue to the poor patronage comparing to the feudal system.

As the present generation is being attracted by the white collar jobs, performing arts hasno stakeholders.

Insufficient remuneration, limited days of performance and low status are otherproblems. Gender biased nature of performing arts is another issue.

To make the cultural heritage of the country better, sustainabledevelopment through cultural practices has a vital role.

It can create enthusiasm for protecting cultural heritage amongperforming community.

The time has come that the cultural sensitivity should be cultivated amongthe society at large.

If we generate the cultural values in the society, we will make them moreresponsible citizens towards our cultural heritage.

There is a need to sensitize and aware the performing communities andmake them proud of their heritage.

To create awareness in the heritage issues and train youths in order tosustain themselves with the traditional art forms.

The project aims to create a pool of people who can act as advocate fortheir cultural heritage.

Along with the regular performances for gaining economic stability, we areplanning for a long term project with documentation and archiving of theresources for the next generation.
