Hastings Deering groupEstablished in 1932, the Hastings Deering Group is one of the top 5 Cat dealers worldwide. The company is the exclusive distributor for the sale of Cat equipment, technology solutions, parts and service support in our territories. Hastings Deering learning centresHastings Deering through the Hastings Deering Learning Centres is a Registered Training Organisation. It provides a range of nationally recognised, accredited and non-accredited courses designed to address the needs of the mining and construction industries.

The training centres provide Cat machine users with appropriate training in service and repair technology as an essential part of our product support capability designed to lower the cost of ownership.

Our training excellence has been recognised through being awarded the Caterpillar “Service Training Excellence Award” (STEA) in 2015. This is a globally coveted accolade that recognises the highest standards of training and proficiency.

In 2016, Hastings Deering remains one of the largest trainers of apprentice Diesel Fitters in Australia, continuing our tradition of training the very best tradespeople. Over the last three years, we have achieved a company-wide transformation of our safety performance with a >85% reduction of our Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR). To assist our customers, Hastings Deering provides expert advice to optimise equipment maintenance approaches that can improve fuel burn, reduce emissions, reduce component wear and increase service intervals. Leveraging class leading technologies along with practical advice in fleet management, predictive maintenance, collision avoidance and equipment repower options can contribute to improved operational efficiency and lower emissions.

Examples include the repowering of D11R dozers where reductions in carbon emissions of 40% are being achieved and the re-engineering of a fleet of underground hard rock loaders where an up to 42% diesel particulate emissions reduction has been achieved.

quality Hastings Deering’s quality, safety and environmental management systems are third party accredited to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008, AS/NZS 4801:2001, and AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004 respectively. Additionally, our Central Queensland Operations have underground accreditations covering Electrical Equipment in Explosive Atmospheres and Diesel Engine Repair and Overhauls under AS/NZS 3800:2012 and AS/NZS 3584.3:2012 respectively.

Our range extends across new, used, rental equipment for surface mining, underground mining, longwall, room and pillar, hard rock, and power generation (engines). We can also provide customers with condition monitoring and analysis, fleet equipment maintenance management options, ancillary equipment ranging from backhoe loaders, water trucks and tool carriers to on-highway trucks, tele-handlers and even training through our registered Learning Centres.

In 2011, Hastings Deering became the exclusive dealer in our territories for the previously branded Bucyrus product line. This new business has been incorporated into our Central Queensland operation in Mackay and includes the ex-Bucyrus facilities, equipment and tooling.
