container.
Example – The capacity of milk container is 1 liter.

Metric Units of CapacityThere are two metric units of capacity.
Liter (L) Milliliter (ml)
1 liter = 1,000 milliliter

ExamplesLiter is larger unit than milliliter.
Example Water in bottle is measured in liter (L) The medicine in dropper is measured in milliliter

Conversion Liter can be changed to milliliter by
multiplying with 1,000.
5L = 5 x 1,000 = 5,000 ml

Conversion
Milliliter (ml) can be changed to Liter (l) by dividing with 1,000.
500 ml = 500/1000 = ½ = 0.5 L
