eAster egg pArty A greAt suCCess!More than 200 people showed up to enjoy the annual Copper Village Easter Egg Party in the Park on Sunday, April 1st. The neighborhood children had great fun taking part in age grouped egg hunts, sack races, egg-in-spoon races and an egg toss contest. Prizes were awarded to winners and participants alike. Parents, grandparents and children all had the opportunity to enjoy rides on the bright blue train or just hang out under a shade tree and watch. It was a weather perfect day for egg hunts, visiting with friends and neighbors and capturing some JUHDWIDPLO\PRPHQWVRQ¿OP&DPHUDVKXWWHUVVWDUWHGÀDVKLQJHYHQPRUHZKHQthe Easter Bunny showed up and all the little ones got to meet and have their picture taken with the large fuzzy fellow. Thanks to Copper Village resident (and Holiday Decorating Contest winner) Bobbi Dittmann for organizing and leading the event. Thanks also to a number of Cy-Falls High School and neighborhood teenagers who volunteered their time and efforts to shepherd the event activities to a successful conclusion. Cy-Falls PALS volunteers included:

Snacks, cookies and drinks were available for everyone in the pool clubhouse. Copper Village Home Owner Association Board Member Marian Burke baked and decorated some beautiful Easter Cookies that looked too good to eat. She also provided rice krispy treats for the event. Thank you, Marian for your efforts to produce such colorful and tasty cookies and treats. Volunteers Rosa Bustamante and Joy Infantozzi helped distribute snacks. Marian’s husband Pat and Rosa’s husband Rene manned the drinks table to ensure the thirsty were kept hydrated.

NOTES FROM THE BOARDBe a responsible pet owner. Please clean up after your pet in all public areas and your neighbor’s yards, sidewalk and street. It’s Springtime. Time to start clean up in your yard. Take pride in your property. Lets keep our neighborhood beautiful. Reminder to homeowners who have not paid their HOA dues. Your dues are now past due. Please take care of this promptly in order to avoid any additional fees. If necessary, payment plans are available. Copper Village HOA meetings are the ¿UVW 7KXUVGD\ RI HDFKPRQWK. The 0D\ meeting will be 0D\UG. The meetings are held at 7 PM in the West Houston Church of Christ at the corner of Queenston and West Road. Recycling: Just a reminder that items to be put in the recycle bins are paper, plastic and aluminum only. Please, NO GLASS! Thanks to everyone who participated in the holiday decorating contest. The winners were displayed on the Copper Village web site. We ask that everyone please remove the holiday decorations in a timely manner.
TRASH REMiNDEROn non-trash days, the garbage cans and waste management containers are to be placed out of visual sight (inside your garage or behind your fence). If you do not follow this procedure, you are in violation of Copper Village deed restrictions. Please remember that our community receives garage-door pickup for trash – there is no need to drag your garbage cans to the curb! Simply place your trash by your garage door and Waste Management will do the rest. Bulky items (yard trimmings, etc.) and recycling still need to be placed at the curb. Please leave the sidewalks unobstructed for the pedestrians in our community.
WEATHER iNFORMATiON FOR COppER VillAgE
Ever wish you could have access to weather conditions right in your backyard? Now you practically can with an individual weather reporter right in our neighborhood. Find it at this website: www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KTXHOUST159
HAVE YOu RETuRNED YOuR iRiS REgiSTRATiON FORM?
If not, what are you waiting for? The Immediate Response Information System (IRIS) will be used to send reminders to residents of upcoming community events as well as distribute emergency information such as boil water notices, evacuation information or other public safety issues. Thus far approximately 50% of Copper Village residents have returned the registration form. All residents are encouraged to register. If you’ve misplaced your form, please contact Trinh Basarabescu (713-984-7217) at AMI.
COppER VillAgE COMMuNiTY DECAlThe Board of Directors for the Copper Village Homeowners Association recently implemented a community decal system to identify vehicles of owners within the community. All residents of Copper Village are strongly recommended to have a community decal visible on the front passenger side windshield of every vehicle that is permanently kept at their residence. Two decals have been mailed to each resident; if you need additional decals, please email [email protected]. The purpose of this program is to better identify who should and should not be in the neighborhood. All vehicles without decals may be stopped by the Neighborhood Watch Team or reported to the police if suspicious activity is witnessed. We urge all residents to obtain a decal and display it on their windshield.

We are often asked, “What’s the best way of finding out whether or not a doctor of chiropractic can help my problem?”We believe the answer can be found in a complete chiropractic consultation and examination, including x-rays. And to help find out for sure, we will do a complete consultation and examination, including x-rays, if necessary, (procedures that normally cost $187.00 or more) for $25.00.We will make this special program available through May. The only exception to the offer involves personal injury cases (workers’ compensation and auto accidents) in which there is no charge directly to the patient.

A scout is helpful… in April to commemorate Earth Day 2012, several scouts and their families participated in a Trash Bash event and cleaned up litter from the playground of Fiest Elementary. Thank you to all boys who worked hard to serve their school and keep America beautiful! Each scout who participated in the trash bash earned a special patch and was recognized during morning announcements at school. We love Fiest Elementary!
