Schaefer Brush has added a new extra-heavy-duty model to its popular S-VECO line of conveyor belt cleaners. The new model is designed to replace secondary scrapers in typical mining appli-

cations, increasing belt and roller life and reducing costs by thou- sands of dollars. It features a new field-tested design and includes two engineering changes to im- prove reliability and reduce main- tenance costs. The brushing ma- chine, Model RMHD-D, features a new breakaway clutch on the brush tensioning device. The clutch has a factory-set torque limit, which triggers the adjust- ment handle on the tensioning de- vice to spin free when the proper torque is reached. This prevents over tightening of the brush, thus increasing bearing life and elimi- nating drive shaft failure. The machines are available for belts from 24 to 108 in. wide.
