Overview: Our client is looking for an energetic, passionate about accounting, takes-the-reins leader for their Controller! Someone who puts the ZING in amazing when it comes to building and leading a team. S/He needs to have a desire to be a part of their young organization, a team player who works cross-functionally (even with mathematically challenged departments) not because they have to, but because the want to. Cannot be afraid of random shouts of "Show me the money" or fist pumps of excitement over a balanced end of month P&L. In fact, they’ll be right there with you! The Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Responsibilities:

Supervise a growing staff of 7, in addition to external consultants and temporary staff as needed

Oversee the monthly close process Responsible for managing the weekly reporting, departmental budget to actual analysis,

board reporting and other external reporting Responsible for treasury management, including managing the banking structure,

corporate credit cards, merchant processing, debt servicing and other cash management duties

Responsible regular updates of the company’s cash flow model Drive the development of key accounting systems, processes and controls and

documentation of accounting policies and procedures Oversee key accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, and financial

planning Coordination of other areas such as insurance, tax filing and audits, banking Responsible in driving the annual budget process, including forecast updates Partner with other department managers in driving key strategic initiatives

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a controller Multi-location experience required Experience in retail and consumer products preferred System implementation experience preferred CPA, preferably experience with a big 4 firm

Position reports to CFO
