Both pages use white backgrounds this makes the page look brighter and also makes the images more likely to stand out. This is more the case on the Kerrang contents page because it is associated with rock and therefore causes darker images to stand out to the reader. On Q a white background gives it a formal appearance which links to the house style. On Q the word contents takes up a large space and more than one image is used making the space for text and images balanced. In Kerrang the masthead is used and Contents covered up. Only one large image is used making one band the main focus and making less space for text.
