I am proud of the role Beaconhouse has played in setting new benchmarks in education over a period of four decades. Today the Beaconhouse group has over 308,000 full-time students in eight countries, making it one of the largest school networks in the world. Over the years, our schools have helped students become critical thinkers and problem solvers, equipping them with confidence to stand out from the crowd.

Establishing Concordia Colleges in 2014 is a testament to our resilience and our strength as a world-class education institution. We feel privileged to have played a role in the provision of quality education in this country and, equally, to have made significant progress towards the establishment of an international education brand that has its origin in Pakistan. BeaconhouseSchool SystemThe Beaconhouse School System is the flagship educational institution

of the Beaconhouse Group. It began as a small nursery in a private

house in Lahore in 1975 and it is now the largest school system of its

type in the world. Beaconhouse schools are present in Malaysia,

Oman, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, the UAE and the United

Kingdom.

The EducatorsThe Educators was launched in 2002 and has since grown into a vast network

of pre-schools, primary and secondary schools across Pakistan. Today, The

Educators extends its unique learning experience to over 190,000+ students

GymboreeBeaconhouse is the only authorised franchise of Gymboree programmes in Pakistan and Belgium. The first centre in Lahore was launched in February 2011 and the second opened in January 2012. Beaconhouse Newlands Beaconhouse-Newlands was launched in Lahore through a strategic alliance

with Newlands School, UK in September 2011. Spread over 7.5 acres in DHA

Lahore’s largest and most ambitious new phase, this iconic day boarding

school offers the best of both Beaconhouse and Newlands.

Following the successful launch of Beaconhouse-Newlands Lahore,

Beaconhouse-Newlands Kuala Lumpur and Beaconhouse-Newlands

Islamabad were established in 2015. Beaconhouse-Newlands Multan, another

revolutionary venture by Beaconhouse, was launched in September 2016.

TNS BeaconhouseTNS Beaconhouse is Pakistan’s leading IB World School®. Its establishment in

Lahore in September 2007 was significantly influenced by the first-ever

international conference on education in Pakistan, ‘Towards 2035: The School

of Tomorrow’ hosted by Beaconhouse in 2005. The conference addressed the

changing role of education and the nature of schools over the next 30 years

and beyond.

In its first decade, it has changed the landscape of private schooling in

Pakistan in numerous ways. TNS was the first school in Pakistan to embrace

the Reggio Emilia approach based on the concept of ‘learning by doing’, and

Beaconhouse National UniversityThe Beaconhouse National University is a liberal arts university that opened in

Lahore in 2003. This is a unique institution in Pakistan that aims to provide a

thorough and rounded humanities, science and social science education at

both graduate and post-graduate level.

The university is composed of the schools of Architecture and Design,

Computer and Information Technology, Education, Liberal Arts, Media and

Mass Communication, Social Sciences and Visual Arts. Students can currently

earn Bachelors and Masters degrees.

Premier DLCPremier DLC is the training and consultancy wing of the Beaconhouse Group,

responsible for bringing more than 40 years of educational sector excellence

to external clients, especially in the public sector. As the scope and impact of

the Beaconhouse Group broadened, becoming internationally recognised and

standardised, the Group aimed to diminish the quality divide between the

public and private education sectors. This was achieved by offering our

educational expertise to other organisations such as NGOs and government

entities.

Premier DLC works towards bridging these gaps by providing educational

development services including teacher`s professional development training,

curriculum development, school management, material development, school

assessments and evaluations and blended learning initiatives, amongst

others.

Premier DLC has successfully delivered projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

In the heart of Karakorum Range, at the

confluence of two great glaciers, the Baltoro

Glacier and the Godwin-Austen Glacier, is

situated Concordia. Concordia provides an

awe-inspiring view of some of the highest

peaks in the world. It is a base camp for

mountains like K-2, Broad Peak and

Gasherbrum. Daring climbers start their

journey to conquer these peaks from here.

With the fast pace of technological development in the world, we believe our students need to use

technology in and beyond the classroom. A blended learning approach is a combination of

face-to-face interaction complemented with computer-based activities during lectures leading to

an enhanced visual and audio learning experience. Using this approach, students are provided with

multimedia-rich, interactive content on demand, any time of the day, seven days a week.

At Concordia, we feel that our Blended Learning Model is essential for complete learning. Some

other important aspects of the Blended Learning Model are:

Concordia’s Learning Management System (LMS) is

one of the most important features of our

educational model and it distinguishes us from other

institutions. This new system provides all the

students with lesson videos and course content. The

LMS also provides Dashboard information to parents

and students about students’ progress, attendance

and their fee status. By using the LMS, students,can

also discuss and clarify their concepts by interacting

with their teachers, fellow students and our resource

persons at the Head Office at their convenience.

Students can discuss the taught syllabus and ask

questions through the Moderated Discussion Board

(MDB) and Team Discussion Board (TDB). Teachers

can evaluate students’ understanding through the

Graded Discussion Board (GDB) using LMS as a

platform. In addition to this, online quizzes provide

students with a number of opportunities to think

beyond the curriculum and to broaden their horizons.

Students from all our campuses can participate in

these quizzes and learn through healthy competition

with their peers. Student feedback on the LMS allows

them the freedom to communicate and share their

ideas and thoughts. In this way, Concordia provides a

standardised education model across its different

campuses.

DEBATINGCOMPETITIONGiven our emphasis on extracurricular activities, and particularly the importance of debates, Concordia Colleges arranged a debating competition at Multi Purpose Hall, University of Education. The Winning Campus Trophy was awarded to Johar Town Girls Campus and DHA Islamabad Boys Campus.Vice Chancellor of University of Education Mr. Rauf-e-Azam and former Vice Chancellor Mr. Faiz-ul-Hassan were the Chief Guests of the Event. The Competition was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rehman Advisor/ Former Vice Chancellor GCU Lahore & Prof. Dr. Tahir Abbas (Dean of Sciences Concordia Colleges).

Teacher TrainingProgrammeEnhancing and updating teachers’ capabilities and knowledge is the best method of improving the standards of education in any academic institution. Keeping these in view Concordia Colleges Administration arranges Teacher Training Programs every year. This year also Teacher Training Programme was arranged at DHA-Campus Islamabad for the faculty of Islamabad, Nowshahra and Peshawar Campuses on 9th and 10th July, 2018. Subsequently, for the Teachers of Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad and Gujranwala Campuses training sessions were held from 30th July, 2018 to 1st August, 2018 at Allama Iqbal Town Girls Campus Lahore. Best Trainers were arranged from reputed Institutions such as Government College University, University of Punjab and Government College of Science Lahore etc. to provide guidance and Training to the teachers regarding syllabus coverage, Paper setting and paper checking patterns of Board of intermediate and Secondary Education. At the end teachers were awarded with the certificates.

Taking parents on Board (PTM)In order to ensure good academic results, institutions should keep all channels of communication and coordination open for all stake holders. With this aim in mind, Concordia colleges arrange Parent Teacher Meetings after each Monthly Tests and share the result of students with their Parents. These meetings have proved to be very useful because they keep parents updated about their child’s progress on regular basis. In the light of mutual feedback the parents get a chance to make the required efforts to help their child in gaining best results in BISE examinations.

Being a reformist institution Concordia Colleges always

remain unique in its activities, arranged for its students.

Holding a Science Exhibition is always an innovative and

informative Idea, which helps students to discover and

reinvent things. It also allows them to think out of the box

and evaluate things around them critically. Science

Exhibition was held at Khudian Khas Campus in May 2018

for enhancing students’ inquisitive skills. In this exhibition

all students of the campus participated actively and

enthusiastically to prepare both Working and Static

categories of the projects. On this event Prof. Dr. M.

Khaleeq-ur-Rehman (Former Vice Chancellor GCU Lahore

and Advisor Concordia Colleges) and Dean of Sciences Prof.

Dr. Tahir Abbas were the Guests of Honor. A briefing of the

Projects was presented to them by the students.

Greenhouse Effect, Environmental Issues and their

solutions, Structures of different Chemical Compounds

were presented as Chemistry Projects. Biology projects

included Meiosis and Mitosis, structure of animal and plant

cell. For physics working model of alarm system, Hydraulic

Break System, Lightening System were placed in the

Exhibition. This unique activity made a great effect on

students’ cognitive skills as it provided them opportunity to

hands on practice what concepts they learn in books.

and serving the society. Management of Concordia

Colleges provides effective chances to grow not only

to its own students but also from the surroundings.

Emerging Talent Contest is a platform which

provides a chance to Matriculation students to

exhibit their strengths both in curricular and

co-curricular activities. Under the banner of ETC

quizzes based on matric syllabus, Arts and crafts,

model making and Debate Competitions are held

every year. In 2018 ETC was held at Canal Campus

Candidates who have appeared in Matriculation or O Level examinations are eligible for admission to the First Year. They will be allowed to register for pre-classes and admissions. After declaration of the result by the Board, formal registration will require the following documents:• Two photographs• Result card• School Leaving Certificate• NOC (Only For Migrating Students)• Equivalence certificate (for O Level students)Admissions will be strictly based on merit. Important Religious Events:Every nation celebrates days of religious importance. Concordia Colleges also encourages its students to celebrate religious important days in the academic calendar with religious fervor and enthusiasm. Events such as Quran Khwani, speeches for the remembrance of Ashura Moharram, Naat Competition and Milaad on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) were held at each campus.

Founding Fathers Event:To nurture an enduring spirit of nationalism, patriotism and devotion to the nation, Concordia Colleges always makes it a point to commemorate the country’s founding fathers. We especially celebrate Pakistan Day, Independence Day, Quaid-e-Azam Day and Iqbal Day.

High Achievers Event: To celebrate the numerous high achieving students of Concordia Colleges, who bring fame and glory to the institution, Concordia arranged a grand dinner in their honour at Royal Palm Golf & Country Club.

Concordia Blood Drive:We as Muslims believe that “one who saves one life, actually saves the whole humanity”. Students of Concordia Colleges have been trained to be responsible adults who can take charge of their lives and can also help others in the society, if and when needed. Blood donation camps were set up by Sundas Foundation at Harbanspura campus of Concordia Colleges. Students enthusiastically donated blood.

MUSIC CONCERTS

RDB:Concordia Music Concert was also held at Al-hamra Open Air Theater, Lahore. The bhangra king, RDB entertained the audience with his hit songs like Aloo Chaat, Sheira Di Kaum, Paisa Paisa and so on. Umar Imtiaz, Bilal Haider, Yasra Haseeb also performed at the event.

Edward Maya: Concordia Music Concert was held at Hills Garden, Faisalabad. The Romanian DJ and king of EDM, Edward Maya enthrilled the audience with his hit compositions like Stereo Love, This Is My Life, Desert Rain and so on. Other emerging artists like Umar Imtiaz, Pukaar Band, Bilal Haider, Yasra Haseeb were also part of the event.

Concordia Colleges follow traditions and greet new students every year in order to provide an encouraging environment. This year also welcome parties were arranged for the new students inducted in 2018. These welcome parties were arranged at prestigious venues like Pearl Continental Hotel, and Flatties Hotel in Lahore. Similar welcome parties were arranged in Islamabad, Kasur, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and other cities. Second Year students presented tableaus and skits.

Such events provide a platform and opportunity to students to meet faculty members, seniors and officials from the Head Office. All the participants enjoyed the events and had dinner together.

Concordia Colleges regularly arrange short and long tours for its students and staff. Aside from providing an opportunity to unwind and refresh, these tours are also exceptionally informative.

At Concordia, we encourage our students to

study hard, be imaginative and develop new

skills. They are also required to complete

assignments on time and each student is asked

to contribute to discussion groups through our

Interactive Model Education (IME). Students

also give presentations or write short papers

on allocated topics. Teachers are advised to

mark the students test papers at the earliest.

Tutorials and colloquiums are also arranged on

topics announced well in advance.

Students are encouraged to express their own

ideas and opinions and to understand various

perspectives.

As a condition of enrolment, the College

administration expects and requires students to abide

by College rules and regulations:

Students are expected to uphold the honour and

dignity of the College as well as their self-respect at all

times. A breach of the Code of Conduct shall entail

disciplinary action.

Students are strictly advised to avoid matters that lead

to submission of fines such as misconduct,

uninformed absence, non-payment of college dues,

etc.

Students are required to wear their college uniform

when they are on campus:

• Boys’ Uniform - Khaki trousers, white shirt, striped
