“The best part about the course was the way that we learned

the theory of the material outside of class, then we had class

time to do the hands-on parts of the material allowing us

easier access to help and the ability to have questions

answered as we worked.”“Dr. Wright’s different approach to the course really worked

well with me. Watching the video lectures on my own then

coming in and being able to hear him clarify any problems

with different words or with a different example really helped

me to understand things a lot better. Having most of the

class time to do work and get feedback on it made it so it

was almost impossible to have last minute problems. I even

got a lot of my work done a few days before the deadline

thanks to it.”

This course started off pretty rough, but by the end, I felt that it

improved greatly. At first, I felt that we were fully teaching ourselves

and I was hoping for a better balance of teacher and student input.

The projects were very demanding and felt overwhelming in addition

to the weekly work that involved 2 quizzes and readings from

scholarly journals. I just felt like I was constantly doing work for this

class and was not getting a connection between the readings and the

projects we did during class. About halfway through the semester, I

got better when we slowed down the projects and made one of the

quizzes take home. I felt that I was learning the material a lot better

and the extra reinforcement from a powerpoint presentation given

by the professor was a great help in connecting the dots. By the end

of the course, I can reflect on it and say that I learned a ton and

enjoyed myself. Getting used to the workload was the first major

hump, and learning to put the emphasis on how much I learn and not

the grades was another lesson learned. I thought the instructor did a

good job in teaching this course once we worked out the bugs, and I

enjoyed learning the material.CommentsComments
