SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION CONGRESS OF THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF INFORMATION PROCESSING (IFIP) 1974" THE IFIP-74 Congress and exhibition will be held during the week from 5 to 10 August 1974 in Stockholm. This meeting is organized once every three years by the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP), which has 33 member countries. The previous congresses, held at Paris, Munich, New York, Edinburgh and Lyublyana, have offered wide facilities for international exchange of information among those concerned with the science and techniques of data processing. The programme of the IFIP-74 congress will embrace a wide range of topics and will include two types of papers and discussions: invited papers providing hour-long surveys on wide themes and half-hour expositions of recent achievements in specific directions, sectional papers, which make up a large part of the programme and covex original work in data processing, panel discussions, which examine the present state of the art and future projects. The papers of the sectional part of the programme will relate to the entire field of data processing. The list of topics given below is not exhaustive. It covers development trends in the new techniques and new theoretical research, though papers describing experience with data processing systems will be specially welcome. It is very desirable that papers be linked with the design and use of computers. All the sectional papers will be edited. The programme committee reserves the right to publish sectional papers and suggests that authors offer them in the same form as they would manuscripts for publication. Any decisions necessary for presentation or publication should be obtained by the authors before sending in their papers. *Zh. uychisl. Mat. mat. Fiz., 13, 3, 803-804, 1973. 353

SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION

CONGRESS OF THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF INFORMATION PROCESSING (IFIP) 1974"

THE IFIP-74 Congress and exhibition will be held during the week from 5 to

10 August 1974 in Stockholm. This meeting is organized once every three years

by the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP), which has 33

member countries. The previous congresses, held at Paris, Munich, New York,

Edinburgh and Lyublyana, have offered wide facilities for international

exchange of information among those concerned with the science and techniques

of data processing.

The programme of the IFIP-74 congress will embrace a wide range of topics

and will include two types of papers and discussions:

invited papers providing hour-long surveys on wide themes and half-hour

expositions of recent achievements in specific directions,

sectional papers, which make up a large part of the programme and covex

original work in data processing,

panel discussions, which examine the present state of the art and future

projects.

The papers of the sectional part of the programme will relate to the entire

field of data processing. The list of topics given below is not exhaustive. It

covers development trends in the new techniques and new theoretical research,

though papers describing experience with data processing systems will be

specially welcome. It is very desirable that papers be linked with the design

and use of computers.

All the sectional papers will be edited. The programme committee

reserves the right to publish sectional papers and suggests that authors offer

them in the same form as they would manuscripts for publication. Any

decisions necessary for presentation or publication should be obtained by the

authors before sending in their papers.

Medinfo-74. First International Conference on Informatics in Medicine

Simultaneously with the IFIP-74 Congress, an international conference on informatics in medicine will be held. The Medinfo-74 conference will cover the entire spectrum of computer applications in medicine, including computer design and user experience. There is at present a large number of different computer systems, which are used for treatment of hospital patients (recording

and storage of laboratory analyses) and for data transmission to other hospitals,

Exhibition of data systems jointly with the IFIP-74 Congress

The exhibition of data systems along with the IFIP-74 Congress is the

third important event taking place at this international forum. The latest

advances in computer development will be shown. Firms throughout the world

who specialize in the mathematical facilities of computers, and forms offering

different types of computer servicing are invited to send their exhibits.
