CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Johanna Redwood who was unanimously elected as a Life Member at the AGM last Sunday. Johanna has given countless hours of service to the Club in numerous areas and over many seasons; congrats Jo!

SUNSHINE BEACH SLSC ANNUAL GOLF DAY
TRAINING & EDUCATION
IRB CREW & DRIVER COURSES Start Thursday 27th July 6-9pm at the club for theory and craft familiarisation First wet session on Saturday 29th July at Noosa River 7.30-10.30am All further sessions at Sunshine Beach 7.30-10.30am on Saturdays and Sundays (unless notified) until assessment on Sunday 20th August. Pre-requisites: Crew course – must hold a proficient Bronze Medallion Driver course – must be 17 years+, hold a proficient Bronze Medallion, proficient crewperson award and have a *Marine licence. Book with Admin by Friday 30th June *Marine licence: You must hold a boat licence before you can start the IRB driver course. You can get a licence in 4-5 hours of online theory and one practical session on Noosa River. The Club will also reimburse the cost of licencing if you intend to become an IRB driver. Ask admin for the Boat Licence contact details.
FIRST AID UPDATE
There have been some changes to the way EpiPens are administered. This will be covered in Skills Maintenance later in the year, but the new guideline is:
Needle to be held in place for 3 seconds (not 10 as previously taught)
No need to massage the site afterwards Some EpiPens may have old labels on them but you should follow the above guideline regardless of what the label says. Jane Fraser – First Aid Officer
MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS
RENEWALS ARE DUE BY 31ST JULY 2017 FOR THE 2017/18 SEASON
Please refer to the email sent to you on 14th June to access the Fees and Levies Schedule for the new season or go to our Resources & Forms webpage to download a copy. How to renew: Membership is to be renewed via Lifesaving Online in your Members Portal account: https://portal.sls.com.au AND you also need to complete a Fees and Levies Schedule and submit it to reception with your payment. If you choose to pay online when you renew please provide evidence of payment when you submit your schedule. NB: Your membership is not considered current for the 2017/18 season until your schedule and payment have been received and your online account has been renewed. If you do not have a Members Portal account please refer to this User Guide to get started. If you cannot access the Members Portal please contact Administration.
