What is the problem? When snow stays on streets or on sidewalks it generates many problems:

(1) Many accidents happen and human lives are lost.

(2) Material costs are also incurred.

(3) Also delays occur and the streets and environment are damaged by current snow removal techniques.

What is the current solution? In order to get rid of the snow, snow removal or snow preventing techniques are used.

Snow removalIn 99% of cases, the snow is removed after several centimeters of snow are already piled up on the street. Shovels or plows are being used. Usually it takes between 2-3 hours up to 7-8 days to remove the snow from the streets and sidewalks. During this time, many accidents happen.

There are some snow preventing solutions...But these solutions are rarely used, because they are:_complicated__very expensive___take a long time to be built____can break down_____not applicable anywhere (e.g. not in the mountains - where one actually needs them…)

Our snow preventing solution is much betterOur USP adds a lot of value because our product is:_straightforward__cheaper___is installed very quickly____is virtually impossible to break down_____can be used anywhere (e.g. not in the mountains - where one actually needs them…)______100% environmently friendly_______doesn’t use any fossil fuels (it can use only green power)________does not damage the runway, thus less road maintenance costs

The Product

Our product is a concrete panel that can be heated. The heating system is already incorporated inside the panel. (standard dimensions: 1 m x 1 m x 3 cm)

A carbon-fiber grid is placed inside the concrete panel. It serves as both reinforcement and as the heating system. Carbon is a conductive material. Therefore electricity can travel through it. Once this grid is connected to a power source, it heats up. The concrete around it, gets warm too.

Development status concreate

research prototype research power supply

What we already have:_ a research prototype: a panel that becomes warm in about 5 minutes (it uses a lab power supply)__a proof-of-concept: a test room is built in the new HTWK Leipzig building

What we still need:_ a market-ready solution to connect the panel to a power source__ a connection system between two or more panels

Both further developments are the base of our Intellectual Protection strategy.

Our product is very versatile

The same panel can also be used in various markets (in addition to snow preventing):_ indoor heating systems (visible heating solutions)__indoor heating walls (invisible heating solutions)___heated concrete furniture (mobile heating solution)____Google/Tesla driverless cars_____and many others...

concreateWe have unfair advantagesTeam: Our team has members from HHL and HTWK Leipzig. It has multiple competences incarbon concrete area and also strong networking (technical universities, business schools, architects, carbon concrete production companies and suppliers).

Timing: Carbon concrete is a very new development (only 4-5 years old).

Possible Synergies: A connected team in TU Dresden is working on a solution to automatecarbon concrete production, as currently there is no automation solution for carbon concrete.
