Hey guys, I have been trying to fix this on my own for over a week can't

get it to stop. I think it's a software problem?

My problem: omputer will ran!omly turn on when in sleep mo!e it

usually happens aroun! "#$am, but has happene! !uring the !ay time.

My computer is in the be! room so I can here it turn on.

Investigating: I have hurrie! an! checke! my computer right once itturne! itself on an! !i!n't see anything running in the backgroun!, no

up!ates, no scanning etc...

%ettings hanges: I have turne! off auto up!ates of many things or

switche! them to only happen on %atur!ays $#"&M(!i!n't fix it)

I have gone through every single even sche!uler(*$) ma!e sure none of

them can wake computer from sleep mo!e.(!i!n't fix it)

I have scanne! for virus +. -aspersky Malwarebytes ro(!i!n't fix it)

hecke! M/ bios an! ma!e sure all wake up settings are 011(!i!n't fix

it)

onclusion: his is why I nee! your help as you can see I have trie!

many things but still cant fix it. H+ 02+ thing I can't stop is the stupi!

%ky!rive I have even trie! creating registry file to stop it. he only other

thing I can think of is a electrical problem in the wall sen!ing it a slight

olt or something? It is plugge! in to a surge protector a Monster

protection is on...

everything I know... 5lso I 3ust woke up an! !i!n't get much sleep so if

something !i!n't make sense that's why...

It probably wants go from sleep to a state of hibernation to conserve

power. My mates usually 3ust put their laptops to sleep an! they start up

in the mi!!le of the night only to stop again. However i !ont see sleep

being of much use with the 6in7 fast startup, maybe if you really !ont

want to close a certain app.

erhaps there is a ghost in that room who simply wants to play a few

games an! troll the interweb8...

I use! to get this exact same thing4 It seeme! that after a few hours it

woul! 3ust turn back on. I narrowe! it !own to either my %, or my

har!!rive. I en!e! up upgra!ing them both so I never reali8e! what oneit was, but it's gone now.

My % is fairly new. Maybe $ months ol!.

I !on't turn it off because it takes less than ".;sec. 1rom sleep, takes

over

2o vibration, also my mouse is wireless I always turn it off.

ehumi!ifier ?, as that will !o that.

coul! 3ust be the power button is faulty try swapping it over with the

reset for a few !ays but obv leave the reset unplugge!, 3ust use its

switch for onoff.

Make sure your nic has its wake on lan features turne! off, in the bios

an! also in the !evice manager's a!vance! properties.

oul! be sensible to either incoming network events incoming pings

magic packets regular 60@ patterns

heck in !evice manager if you !on't have A@et this !evice wake the

computerA box checke! un!er @52 or other components # I ha! them

enable! for some reason a while back, hell that was annoying.

%orry for late reply been busy I was gone all !ay yester!ay came home

to my computer on... 2othing can touch the mouse or keyboar!. I have

unplugge! any %/ !evice that are not nee!e!. 0nce I get some free

in a M prompt you can use

powercfg #lastwake

to fin! out the cause. for me it was win!ows 'sche!ule! maintenance'

which can be !isable! in the win!ows Aaction centerA

I woul! check the logs an! see what's going on !uring the in Duestion

Use the command line to find what causes the PC to wake up

0ne way to fin! out what is causing a wake#up problem is provi!e! by

the comman! line. 0pen a comman! prompt with elevate! privileges

an! enter this comman!:

powercfg -lastwake

he last !evice that woke up the system will be shown

o fin! out which !evices are enable! to wake up the , enter this

comman!

I ha! that same problem you are having, my

computer was waking#up from %< an! the

culprit was my E= mouse.

powercfg #lastwake also liste! the HI keyboar!

!evice which was an extension of the mouse.

everything to not being able to wake#up the

computer from %

IFve foun! is that a laptop will not

wake to hibernate if the battery is

getting too low. It will 3ust go !ea!
