An HDBaseT switch is used to terminate the sources (e.g., any type of media player, set top box, or gaming console). The switch can be placed at a central location (e.g., in a basement) delivering the 5Play feature set to various home devices at a distance of up to 100m/328ft. This means you can sit back in front of your screen, anywhere in your home, and use a remote control, a gaming console controller, or even a keyboard and mouse to control your devices.
You can also control your HDBaseT switch using a smartphone or tablet app. Internet can also be provided for home PCs over the same cable without requiring any special configuration. Custom installations
For cases where only point-to-point AV connectivity is required or where the end-point is not HDBaseT-enabled, an HDBaseT adaptor can be used. For example, a connection between two HDMI-compliant devices over long distances can be done using a single Cat5e cable of up to 100m/328ft long.

Valens HDBaseT projectors installations typically include point-to-point or multipoint-to-multipoint connections of ceiling mounted projectors. In many cases, an HDBaseT switching matrix is used to terminate sources and deliver the 5Play feature set to all projectors at a distance of up to 100m/328ft (or up to 800 meters with eight hops). Colligo is Valens’ new HDBaseT Spec 2.0-compliant chipset. In addition to the functionalities offered in the Gen 1.0 family, it also brings native T-adaptor support for various data formats and interfaces, including S/PDIF, Glueless HDMI, HDI I/O, I²S, UART, CIR, LVDS and USB 2.0. Proprietary HDI I/O interfaces enable configuring complex topologies and multi-AV streams better than ever before. Colligo also brings USB host/device support and enhanced performance, including 4K delivery over long distances. The family includes four chipsets: VS2000, VS2310, VS2311 and VS2110.

Design support
Valens operates the first HDBaseT-recognized testing facility (RTF), offering compliance test services to HDBaseT Alliance members. Valens RTF’s team assists HDBaseT Alliance members throughout the entire testing procedure, providing a detailed test report and guidance on required fixes, until HDBaseT certification is completed.
