Prehrana i piÊa te farmaceutika osnovne su djelatnosti Podravke. U prehrambenoj industriji Podravka se ubraja meu vodeÊe kompanije u jugoistoËnoj, srednjoj i istoËnoj Europi. Belupo je vodeÊa farmaceutska tvrtka u Hrvatskoj po prodaji lijekova s uËinkom na kardiovaskularni sustav i lijekova s uËinkom na koæu te drugi po veliËini proizvoaË lijekova u Hrvatskoj.

Od drugih kompanija razlikujemo se po sposobnosti razumijevanja potreba potroπaËa, naπim markama proizvoda te visokoj kvaliteti proizvoda i poslovnih procesa.

Jedno od obiljeæja Podravke jest i vaæna prisutnost na meunarodnim træiπtima. U jugoistoËnoj Europi æelimo biti vodeÊa i najveÊa prehrambena kompanija, u srednjoj i istoËnoj Europi lider u odabranim kategorijama proizvoda, a na ostalim træiπtima lider u etno-segmentu, kao i biti prisutni na generalnom træiπtu.

IntroductionFood, beverages and pharmaceuticals are the main activities of Podravka. In the food industry, Podravka belongs to the leading companies in South-East, Central and Eastern Europe. Belupo is the leading pharmaceutical company in Croatia in the sales of drugs with effect on the cardiovascular system and skin treatment and the second largest manufacturer of drugs in Croatia.

We differ from other companies in our ability to understand customer needs, by our product brands and the high quality of our products and business processes.

One of Podravka’s characteristics is the significant presence on international markets. In South-East Europe we wish to be the leading and largest food company and in Central and Eastern Europe the leader in selected product categories, while on other markets the leader in the ethno segment and to be present on the general market.

A heart is the symbol of our company. It has always symbolised our concern for consumers and all who show interest in our company.

Godine 2005. Podravka je sklopila strateπki savez s norveπkom kompanijom Rieber & Son o zajedniËkom nastupu u prodaji i distribuciji na poljskom træiπtu.

Povijest Podravke zapoËinje davne 1934. godine kada su braÊa Wolf u Koprivnici zapoËela preradu i prodaju voÊa. U to vrijeme nisu mogli ni slutiti da Êe se njihova obiteljska radionica razviti u jednu od vodeÊih prehrambenih kompanija sa sjediπtem u srednjoj, istoËnoj i jugoistoËnoj Europi.

Pod danaπnjim imenom kompanija poËinje poslovati 1947. godine, kada je radionica braÊe Wolf preπla u druπtveno vlasniπtvo.

Godine 1957. proizvedene su prve dehidratizirane juhe. Otad su Podravkine juhe prepoznatljiv dio njezina proizvodnog asortimana, ali i ime koje simbolizira kvalitetu.

Godinu dana nakon proizvodnje prvih Podravkinih juha, 1958., Podravkin tim struËnjaka na Ëelu s profesoricom Zlatom Bartl izumio je Vegetu - najpoznatiju Podravkinu marku koja se danas prodaje u viπe od 40 zemalja svijeta.

Godine 1967. zapoËinje izvoz Vegete na maarsko i rusko træiπte, pa je to godina u kojoj su se Podravkini proizvodi prvi put naπli na stranom træiπtu.

Godine 1972. Podravka razvija svoju drugu osnovnu djelatnost - farmaceutiku - i osniva tvrtku Belupo.

Godine 1981. u sklopu industrijske zone Danica u Koprivnici izgraena je tvornica lijekova i kozmetike Belupo.

Godine 1993. Podravka je registrirana kao dioniËko druπtvo.

1998. godine Podravkine dionice uvrπtene su u I. kotaciju ZagrebaËke burze, danaπnje Sluæbeno træiπte ZagrebaËke burze.

Godine 1997. zapoËinje snaæan investicijski ciklus. Tijekom tog investicijskog ciklusa, izgraena je tvornica Vegete u Koprivnici, tvornica Vegete, juha i praπkastih proizvoda u Poljskoj, tvornica Belupa u Koprivnici te je implementiran informatiËki sustav SAP koji je povezao sve poslovne procese u kompaniji.

Godine 2002. Podravka je realizirala svoje prve dvije akvizicije - Ital-Ice u Hrvatskoj i Lagris u »eπkoj i SlovaËkoj. Iste godine sklopljen je strateπki savez s najveÊom svjetskom prehrambenom kompanijom Nestlè o prodaji i distribuciji proizvoda te kompanije na træiπtima jugoistoËne Europe.

Godine 2003. u Koprivnici je otvorena nova tvornica Podravka jela.

Godine 2004. Belupo je u Koprivnici otvorio novu tvornicu polukrutih i tekuÊih lijekova vrijednu 10 milijuna eura.

In 2005 Podravka concluded a strategic alliance with the Norwegian company Rieber & Son on joint sales and distribution on the Polish market.

The history of Podravka began in the far 1934 when the Wolf brothers started the processing and sales of fruit in Koprivnica. At that time they could not even imagine that their family workshop would develop into one of the leading food companies headquartered in Central, Eastern and South-East Europe.

The company started operating under its current name in 1947 when the workshop of the Wolf brothers became socially-owned property.

In 1957 the first dehydrated soups were produced. Since then, Podravka soups have been a recognisable part of the Podravka product range but also a name which symbolises quality.

A year after the first Podravka soups were produced, in 1958, Podravka’s team of experts headed by professor Zlata Bartl invented Vegeta - the most famous Podravka brand which today is sold in over 40 countries worldwide.

In 1967 Vegeta started being exported to the Hungarian and Russian markets, so this is considered as the year in which Podravka products first appeared on the foreign market.

In 1972 Podravka developed its second main activity - pharmaceuticals - and founded the company Belupo.

In 1981 the Belupo factory of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics was constructed within the industrial zone Danica.

In 1993 Podravka was registered as a shareholding company.

In 1998 Podravka stock was listed in the first quotation of the Zagreb Stock Exchange, today the Official market of the Zagreb Stock Exchange.

In 1997 a strong investment cycle started. During this investment cycle, the Vegeta factory in Koprivnica, the Vegeta, soups and powdery products factory in Poland, the Belupo factory in Koprivnica were constructed and the information system SAP implemented connecting all business process throughout the company.

In the year 2002 Podravka realised its first two acquisitions - Ital-Ice in Croatia and Lagris in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The same year a strategic alliance was concluded with the largest food company in the world – Nestlè, for the sales and distribution of their products on the markets of South-East Europe.

In 2003 the new factory of Podravka Dishes opened in Koprivnica.

In 2004 Belupo opened its new factory of semi-solid and liquid drugs in Koprivnica, worth 10 million HRK.

Podravka’s strong distribution network stretches from the Adriatic to the Baltic Sea, bringing Podravka closer to customers on the international market. Also, apart from production and sales in the region, Podravka has strategic alliances on particular markets and through its outspread distribution network distributes partner products (Nestlè, Heinz, Adria, Unilever), additionally expanding its product range offered to customers.

which customers have recognised by their outstanding

quality. The most famous are Podravka, as a roof brand,

and Vegeta, the universal food seasoning sold in over 40

countries worldwide. The strength of Vegeta is among others

proved by the award Superbrand Polska, received as one of

the strongest brands in Poland among 1200 other consumer

brands. After Poland, Vegeta received the prestige award

Superbrand from consumers in Hungary and Russia while the

Podravka brand holds the Superbrand symbol on the market

Podravka employs 7500 people.The key role is held by employees who owing to their

knowledge and skills make the company distinctive

among competitors and more successful on the market.

Podravka in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics

of Zagreb established in 2003 the Podravka Management

Academy (POMAK) aimed to develop, acquire and

supplement the managerial knowledge and skills of

its employees. At the beginning of 2004 Podravka in

cooperation with the Leeds Metropolitan University

started a new international program oriented towards

acquiring the latest knowledge in the field of retailing

important for the food industry.Every year Podravka increases its investment in the

education of its employees and with developing partner

relationships with the leading educational institutions

both in the country and abroad, wishes to keep the

leading role in creating educational programs for its

employees.

fakultetom iz Zagreba, 2003. godine utemeljila

vjeπtina njezinih zaposlenika.Podravka je takoer poËetkom 2004. godine, u suradnji

prehrambenu industriju.Svake godine Podravka poveÊava ulaganje u obrazovanje

zadræati vodeÊu ulogu u kreiranju edukacijskih programa

za svoje zaposlenike.

BelupoOsnovna djelatnost Belupa jest proizvodnja i prodaja farmaceutskih pripravaka i kozmetiËkih proizvoda, a organiziran je kao dioniËko druπtvo (d.d.) sa sjediπtem u Koprivnici, u stopostotnom Podravkinu vlasniπtvu.Organizacijom i naËinom rada kompanija se prilagoava suvremenim naËinima poslovanja na domaÊem i na stranom træiπtu. Neprekidnom razradom strateπkog razvoja i izvoznih aktivnosti, neprestanom nadogradnjom sustava osiguranja i kontrole kakvoÊe, stalnim struËnim usavrπavanjem svojih zaposlenika te ulaganjem u kapacitete i programe Belupo stvara zavidnu poziciju jednog od vodeÊih proizvoaËa lijekova u srednjoj i jugoistoËnoj Europi. Belupova su snaga njegovi zaposlenici. BelupoThe basic activity of Belupo is the production and sales of pharmaceu-tical preparations and cosmetics. Belupo is organised as a sharehold-ing company with headquarters in Koprivnica and is in a hundred per-cent ownership of Podravka.Through its organisation and man-ner of work the company is adapting to modern business trends both on the domestic and foreign markets.Belupo, with its permanent elabo-ration of strategic development and exporting activities, constant upgrading of assurance and quality control systems, continuous profes-sional advancement of its employ-ees and investments in capacity and programs, has created an envi-able position as one of the leading manufacturers of pharmaceuticals in Central and South-East Europe.Belupo’s strength lies in its employ-ees. Sustainable developmentIn the year 2001 Podravka became member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Conservation and rational use of the world’s natural resources is one of the fundamental guidelines and one of the major goals of the WBCSD.Podravka is one of the founders of the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development - HRPSOR, where as member of the Management Board participates in the organisation and implementation of sustainable development actions.Podravka is also a member of the Environment Protection Association Council and the Association for Corporate Social Responsibility at the Croatian Chamber of Economy, with impact on legislation concerning environment protection and raising the awareness of the importance of corporate social responsibility in economy.Ecology development and the environment protection plan have been targeted in integral and systematic solutions in Podravka, in the sector of waste water, waste management, air pollution and environment friendly production processes from raw material to the final product.The principles of environment protection adopted by Podravka have been implemented not only in Koprivnica but progressively into new units such as Ital-Ice and units outside Croatia - Lagris, Podravka Polska and others.

Odræivi razvojPodravka je 2001. g. postala Ëlanicom Svjetskog savjeta za odræivi razvoj - WBCSD-a (World Business Council for Sustainable Development). OËuvanje i razumno iskoriπtavanje svjetskih prirodnih resursa jedna je od temeljnih smjernica te jedan od glavnih ciljeva WBCSD-a.Podravka je jedan od osnivaËa Hrvatskog savjeta za odræivi razvoj - HRPSOR-a, u kojem kao Ëlanica Upravnog vijeÊa sudjeluje u organizaciji i provoenju akcija odræivog razvoja.Podravka je i Ëlan VijeÊa Zajednice za zaπtitu okoliπa pri Hrvatskoj gospodarskoj komori koje ima utjecaj na zakonodavstvo vezano uz zaπtitu okoliπa.Razvoj ekologije i plan zaπtite okoliπa u Podravki su zacrtani cjelovitim i sustavnim rjeπenjima u sektoru otpadnih voda, gospodarenja otpadom, zagaenja zraka te ekoloπki prihvatljiva proizvodnog procesa od sirovine do gotovog proizvoda.Principi zaπtite okoliπa usvojeni u Podravki implementiraju se, osim u Koprivnici, postupno i u nove cjeline kao πto je Ital-ice, te cjeline izvan Hrvatske - Lagris, Podravka Polska i druge.

The “prof. Zlata Bartl” FoundationThe idea for establishing a foundation which would encourage and promote creative, innovative, scientific and research work of graduate and post-graduate students appeared in the year 2001. The underlying guidance of the future foundation was the character and commitment of professor Zlata Bartl who was responsible for creating Vegeta and who had devoted her whole life to her work at Podravka and the training and education of younger generations. Therefore, it was proposed that the foundation carries the name - The “prof. Zlata Bartl” Foundation, which the Management Board of Podravka d.d. accepted on 18 October 2001, hence in that way keeping in memory the name and work of professor Zlata Bartl. Podravka, as founder of the Foundation, has funded the beginning of Foundation work. The Foundation funds are used for scholarships and support to full-time graduate and post-graduate students, citizens of the Republic of Croatia.

Zaklada “prof. Zlata Bartl”Ideja o osnivanju Zaklade koja bi poticala i promicala stvaralaËki, inovativni i znanstveno-istraæivaËki rad studenata dodiplomskih i poslijediplomskih studija nastala je 2001. godine. Nit vodilja buduÊe zaklade postali su lik i djelo profesorice Zlate Bartl Ëijom je zaslugom stvorena Vegeta i koja je cijeli svoj æivot posvetila predanom radu u Podravki te obrazovanju i usavrπavanju mlaih naraπtaja. Stoga je predloæeno da zaklada nosi ime - Zaklada “prof. Zlata Bartl”, πto je 18. listopada 2001. godine Uprava Podravke prihvatila te na taj naËin odluËila oËuvati uspomenu na ime i djelo profesorice Zlate Bartl.Podravka je, kao osnivaË Zaklade, uloæila novËana sredstva za poËetak rada Zaklade. Sredstva Zaklade upotrebljavaju se za dodjelu stipendija i potpora redovitim studentima dodiplomskih i poslijediplomskih studija koji su dræavljani Republike Hrvatske.

Interested?Sponsorships and donationsPodravka has proved to be a desirable social partner in all the environments it operates in, taking care of the local community. In accordance with this, Podravka provides certain funds for sponsorships and donations in order to support the activities of various entities and associations.

Podravka has two major principles related to sponsorships:• sponsoring culture in order to promote the quality of cultural events and improving the life of each and every citizen,• sponsoring sports clubs with which Podravka has sponsorship agreements for a number of years.Currently, Podravka sponsors a large number of sports clubs among which are the many-time Croatian champions in handball Podravka - Vegeta, known for its sports results all over Europe, and the Croatian first league football team Slaven Belupo.

Podravka provides financial support to different associations oriented towards child development, such as the blind people’s association, association for support to mentally disabled people and the association for supporting children with development disorder as well as the work of libraries, cultural institutions, kindergartens, hospitals, public health institutes and many others.

We are aware that business cannot be developed in a society that does not develop. Social development is possible only through cooperation.

Sponzorstva i donacijePodravka se u svim sredinama u kojima djeluje pokazala kao poæeljan socijalni partner koji vodi raËuna o druπtvenoj zajednici u kojoj posluje. U skladu s tim, Podravka odreena sredstva izdvaja za sponzorstva i donacije, kako bi potpomogla djelovanje raznih subjekata i udruga.

Dva su osnovna naËela Podravke u sponzorstvima:• sponzoriranje kulture radi promicanja kvalitete kulturnih dogaanja i unapreenja æivota svakog graanina • sponzoriranje sportskih klubova s kojima Podravka veÊ godinama ima sponzorske ugovorePodravka trenutaËno sponzorira velik broj sportskih klubova, meu kojima je i viπestruki hrvatski rukometni prvak Podravka - Vegeta, koji je po svojim sportskim uspjesima poznat diljem Europe, te hrvatski nogometni prvoligaπ Slaven Belupo.

Podravka podupire i novËano potpomaæe rad razliËitih udruga koje su usmjerene na razvoj djece, kao πto su udruge slijepih, udruge za pomoÊ osobama s mentalnom retardacijom te udruge za pomoÊ djeci sa smetnjama u razvoju, kao i rad knjiænica, kulturnih ustanova, vrtiÊa, bolnica, zavoda za javno zdravstvo te mnogih drugih.

Svjesni smo da se poslovanje ne moæe razvijati u druπtvu koje se ne razvija. Razvoj druπtva moguÊ je jedino suradnjom.
