Hey, Commuters! Love your commute? Love taking pictures? Show it to us by entering the #MyUMWCommute photo contest! Simply take a selfie with your mode of transportation (whether car, bike, or shoes) and post it to the Commuter Student Services Facebook group. The picture with the most “Likes” by the end of the voting period wins a $50 gas gift card! The winner will be announced Sept 14th. We look forward to seeing your pics! Note: 1) By entering into this contest, you agree to have your personal transportation displayed on a public social media source. 2) To enter, you must be a current UMW commuter student. 3) To be an eligible submission, the picture must include both yourself and your mode of transportation. 4) For your safety, do not take pictures while operating a motor vehicle or bicycle. 5) Take note that this is a fun contest; please do not post anything inappropriate, negative, or rude.

Download RaveGuardian Free! UMW offers an innovative new mobile safety app, known as RAVE Guardian. It can be downloaded free of charge by anyone in the UMW network to their smartphones. Once activated, the app provides the user one-touch connection to UMW police or 911, displays the user’s GPS location and enables a text or digital image to be sent. The user also can set a safety timer to share with a selected group of friends or family members within his or her virtual safety network. For more information, go to
