Provides a static, private IP address (RFC 1918), suitable for packet-oriented data transfer over IPv4 (RFC 971), including mdex web.direct access. Provides a management portal. Provides an individual client VPN (closed user group). Communication is only possible within the VPN and through web.direct functionality. Available in the Tele-kom Germany GmbH and Vodafone D2 GmbH networks over the respective mdex APNs as well as for any given internet connection (DSL and cellular) over OpenVPN. Access options for additional devices connected to the router, utilizing IP port forwarding. Monthly prices are not prorated based on daily use.

Provides an mdex fixed.IP+ in the Vodafone Deutschland GmbH network (GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA)via the mdex APN m2m.cda.vodafone.de.

3. mdexfixed.IP+ TelekomProvides an mdex fixed.IP+ in the Telekom Deutschland GmbH (GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA) via the mdex APN mdex.ic.t-mobile.

4. mdexfixed.IP+ OpenVPNProvides an mdex fixed.IP+ for any given internet connection, i.e. via DSL (worldwide) via the network provider’sstandard APNs.

mdexfixed.IP+ Service Specifications

mdex web.directWith the mdex web.direct function, an mdex fixed.IP+ gateway can be accessed in the following ways:

1. Via the mdex Management Portal:By following a link in the mdex management portal.Authentication takes place by logging in through the mdex management portal.

2. Via the mdex “Login-Link”:From within the mdex management portal, an individual password can be set for every single mdex web.direct “Login-Link”. Access to the mdex fixed.IP+ gateway is protected by this password. The “Login-Link” can also be used outside of the mdex management portal.

3. Via the mdex “Direct-Link”:The “Direct-Link” can be individually activated/deactivated for every mdex fixed.IP+ gateway. In the “Direct-Link”, there is a “hash value”, which is generated with the help of the “Login-Link” password and upon password modifi-cation, it is also changed. Via “Direct-Link”, without the mdex management portal, one can access the mdex fixed.IP+ gateway. Authentication takes place by using the “hash value” in the URL. Access is possible via any given port. The only available transmission protocol is HTTP(S).

Usage FeaturesThe SIM card is not a component of mdex fixed.IP+. The connecting cell phone must be able to configure the respective mdex APN, as well as username and password. For transferring sensitive data, we recommend using end-to-end encryption from the device to control point, or to the device of the client in an appropriate industry standard, i.e. SSL.

Take Note!Depending on the respective variant, please keep the following in mind when using mdex fixed.IP+: 1. mdexfixed.IP+ Vodafone/ Vodafone m2mThe SIM card available in stores from service providers or resellers (i.e. mobilcom-debitel), which use the Vodafo-ne network, as well as all Vodafone prepaid SIM cards are not activated for the mdex network and can therefore not be used. This, of course, is not the case for mdexSIM (Vodafone) cards! The communication between two mdex fixed.IP+ Vodafone gateways is not yet possible. Corrective action: use at least one gateway with a SIM card from another network operator or use an mdex fixed.IP+ OpenVPN gateway.

2. mdexfixed.IP+ TelekomUse of mdex fixed.IP+ (Telekom) is only possible with mdex brokered SIM cards. Should you have an existing general contract with the Telekom, please call us.

3. mdexfixed.IP+ OpenVPNThe necessary internet service (i.e. DSL, cellular, satellite) is not part of mdex fixed.IP+. The cost for internet access will be billed separately by the respective ISP.The device used (i.e. router, server, PC) must be using an OpenVPN client of at least version 2.1 and support authentication by means of username/password, as well as have the OpenVPN server certificate installed. De-pending on its configuration, the OpenVPN client, in addition to the user data, accrues a data volume of 1 MB (for “TCP configuration) to 20MB (for “UDP configuration”) per month (“keepalive traffic”), for uninterrupted access and a “key-renewal interval” of 86400 seconds. In order to set up the OpenVPN, tunnel any existing firewall must allow connections over port 9300 (UDP) or 443 (TCP) to fixedip.mdex.de.

External access for your LTE connection

With the mdex LTE Package, you can supplement your current LTE connection with external accessibility over a static, public IP address. The mdex LTE Package assigns one terminal (i.e. server, camera, router) over the supplied, pre-configured mdex MX200 router, a public, static IP address. The mdex mobile.DSL package is the ready-to-run complete solution, for when you would like to make the internet reachable for a terminal (i.e.: IP camera / remote maintenance over mobile) and where on-site there is no stationary internet connection available. The package includes a mobile router with flatrate SIM card and a static, public IP ad-dress. The router is completely preconfigured, so that the terminal is immediately reachable from the internet, with no restrictions. Service Specificationsmdex Individual Support offers individual, competent and uncomplicated help with problems in the area of data communication with regards to mdex products and services. A systems engineer is personally acquainted with the solution to your request and is available by mail and telephone during office hours. Prerequisites for support are access to information available from the service used as well as the cooperation of the client.

Information from client 1. Log data from connection (i.e. on router). 2. Data communication capture (tcp dump). 3. Information about implemented hardware. 4. How are they configured?5. Which cellular network, SIM card or plan is being used?

If requested and if possible, with the help of Teamviewer, a systems engineer can be permitted to observe any problems occurring, and if needed, adjust configurations.

Procedures1. After ordering, you will receive a personal service ID and the contact data of your systems engineer. 2. For any requests, please remember to include your service ID.3. Support requests can be made by email or telephone.
